Is there a tweeter protection device within the crossover?
A shopper on Mar 16, 2016
Best Answer: No, just a crossover. You can however use the tweeter attenuation to effectively reduce its output power by 2db 4db or 6db in case your pushing too much power, or if the tweeters are just to bright for your liking.

What else do I need to install type r speakers?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

That is far too vague of a question, and you will likely receive many different open-ended suggestions, comments, opinions. You may not need anything at all, considering Alpine is gracious enough to provide brackets with their speakers. However, some installs still need help, by drilling new hole. Others may need a spacer. Having provided a VEHICLE and More In Depth details about your installs, would have surely helped to establish an answer that pertains to your project. Nevertheless, we will submit your question so others can chime in.

If I was to put 100 watts to the crossover, how does 100 watts get distributed to the mid driver and tweeter? is the tweeter rated at 110 rms as well? if I was to use a different tweeter would it need to be rated at 110 rms ?
Thomas B on Feb 3, 2016
Best Answer: The crossover separates the audio signal by frequency not wattage, high frequency to the tweeter, low frequency to the woofer. 100 watts applied goes to all components on the line. If you were to swap out the tweeter it would need to carry the same rating as the Alpine one that is included. Why would you want to do that anyway, this is a matched set and they perform beautifully together.

will these speakers fit in my 2001 dodge Durango?
guadalupe g on Feb 21, 2015
Best Answer: You can use the 6.5 or 6.75 version of that speaker. They need a lot of power though. I personally have the 6.5 on 120 watts rms each and they sound great.

spacer or anything to get the install done right with cleanences?
Justin T on Feb 20, 2015
Best Answer: I don't do installs for a living.
I put these in my toy tundra.
The glue gun was my best friend.
I made my spacers with plastic and a glue gun. Hope this helps.

I recently purchased a set of these 60C's.. I wired them with NVX audio 12AWG speaker wire to a Brutus BRX 616.4 channel amp. I bridged 2 of the channels for each side (making it 2 channel output). After I completed the installation, all the speakers were fine except the right side mid bass.. It will make a pop on bass notes if I turn the radio up high enough. I turned on the HPF on the radio to 50-63Hz and it still will pop with enough power from the head unit. To get the popping to stop(for the most part) I have to leave everything flat and keep the db on the amp to almost nothing... How do I eliminate the popping?

Any help would be great.
Preston T on Sep 15, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Preston,

You are clearly sending far too much power to the drivers. Luckily only one has popped, and hasn't completely failed. Bridged, 4 ohms: 320 watts x 2 chan. , are - in theory - the figures you are running. To drivers that are only asking for up to ~110w RMS . We suggest simply giving each side it's own channel, un-bridged.

Give our sales team a call if we missed something; they can be more thorough.

will these speakers work with my existing wiring and since i'am new where do the cross overs go?
steven p on Oct 29, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Steven,

Yes, they will. But if you are going to run an amp to these, as intended, then it is recommended to upgrade the wiring to at Least 16gauge.
The crossovers can go wherever you can fit them; Be it in the door panel, a kick panel, in the dash, or displayed.
