Wow all in one radio
Great radio. Another big one for Alpine. Multimedia unit. Full speed ahead on ipod and iphone. Great bluetooth and sound quality. Easy to use and great value for the price. It powers up so quick. Comes with remote control and ipod cable. So its ready to install out the box. Nav unit is 230 extra and its well worth it.

I bought this unit installed it and about after 3 days the screen started messing up. It would fade out then come back to the rich bright color it should have. so I finally sent it back but it was out of stock. So I found one that was open box. nothing was supposed to be wrong with it. There was.......... the open box unit didn't even power up. so I'm a but frustrated with it right now. I just sent the open box one back today. But if were working properly I would like it a lot.
Pros
I like that the screen doesn't move therefore no moving parts to break. I love all the options it has lots you can upgrade if you want.
cons
Once you plug your iPod in it takes forever to scroll down through your artists so your best making a playlist or lists. Bluetooth sounds crappy.

Typical great alpine quality, no need to use your cd's that just take up space when you are not using them. Multiple outputs for amps and video monitors. Video playback is great perfect for those iPod movies and shows. you cannot beat the price either it retails at $699.00 and you get it for practically half off. The handsfree is also another huge thing that I was amazed about you can dial out by just talking of by touching the dial pad on the screen. Works great and I have had no problems.
The only problem is that it is hard to find a specific artist or song it takes for ever to find them. so best make playlists.
And you can only see the general set up when the parking break is engaged or bypassed.

This is a great unit if you love Apple products.
Pros: There's no moving parts (screen) so it's great if you have limited space for 2din install. No dvd or cd player. So dvd or cd player to break.
Still has Alpine's great sound and it gets even better if you pair it the with Imprint audio processor. The video playback is very nice. Oh yeah and the PRICE is awesome too.
Cons: Searching for a song can take awhile because you can only scroll through the songs as oppose to typing in the name. The graphics could be a little better.
A great price for nice peice of equipment. Would definitely buy again.
Thanks Sonic !!!

I also own the W404 which is in my 2008 JK unlimited and I really liked the way that unit works. The W407 is basically the same unit as the W404 but with a bigger screen and no knob. Plus it has built in Bluetooth. Let me start by saying I'm an avid iPod user and that's why I like these units. The iPod interface is flawless on both units. The menu's are easy to navigate and the picture quality for movies is great. I also have a rear view camera hooked up to this and the picture is much clearer than the JVC unit this replaced. My only gripe is the video bypass. Alpine needs to get with the picture and realize that no matter how many times they warn people about bypassing the video the more people are going to do it. So they need to do away with the 10 step process of accessing the setup menu's and video. Do what JVC did and just use a single wire for video bypass. I made it easy on myself and purchased the PAC TR-7 which also works great for video bypass! Bottom line I'm pretty happy with this unit.
