Excellent amp, but 480x2 bridged.. not
This is a great amp, it does a lot with a tiny footprint. Lots of power, pretty good looking, no bass boost which is a HUGE plus. I'm glad this amp does not have bass boost.
The 4 channel section is 80x4 or 240x2 bridged, the 480 x 2 is a peak number just to clarify. It does still put out a pretty sizeable amount of power. It gets the job done.

This amp is outstanding! 5 Stars hands down! SQ is out of this world. I have it hooked up to the pioneer DEH-80PRS. Running this amp hooked to Alpine type X pro's components in the front and the rear are Alpine type R coax and a set of 12" type R's. And this system rocks.... I recommend this amp!

I've had many amps before and I'm really impressed with the amount of power from an amp with such a small footprint. You can power a whole system with just 1 amp.

Amazing 5-channel amp. Pair of RK6, CK5, Extra par of massive Tweets and Pioneer Primier 12". Also how small the amp is easy to place at any location. Nice clean flat black design. I love Massive!

One amplifier for 2-channel and subwoofer. Small size, 2 power supplies and good sound.
Very picky about the voltage in the car.

My installation goal for my new 2011 Subaru WRX 5-door wagon was to keep the hatch area open for gear. I decided to try a five channel amplifier mounted under the driver's seat to run an active two way front as well as a subwoofer, The NX-5 came highly recommended on DIYMA so I decided to give it a try. It receives its signal from a JBL MS-8 and powers a pair of Dayton RS180 midbass drivers and Tang Band wideband drivers as well as a Diamond Audio D1 10" sub.
When I opened the beautiful Massive Audio box and saw how small the NX5 was, I was skeptical about clean power from such a small footprint. Particularly with no heatsink fins or internal fans. I have been genuinely impressed, though. Power output is easily as high as advertised and clean all the way to uncomfortably loud listening levels.
As suspected, the amplifier does get quite hot after extended listening, particularly when it was simply velcroed to the carpet (no air movement beneath the amp). Once I raised it off the floor, it only gets warm after extended listening at loud volume levels. The amp has never gone into thermal shutdown, even after once mistakenly kicking a gym towel under the seat and completely smothering the amp.

This amp gets hot very quick and will enter protection mode. If you listen to music at moderate levels it is ok, but if you like to push you volume up this amp cant handle it. I have had this amp mounted in several different places in my vehicle (2014 Durango) and it still over heats. Its hooked to Massive audio 6x9 components up front and 6 1/2 in the rear with two sundown 8's (great subs) at 1ohm. It took less than 30 minutes to over heat. Changed the subs to 2 Polk Audio DB series subs at 2 ohms that I had sitting in my garage, that extended play time to about 45 minutes. After replacing my subs for 2 Rockford Fosgate P315's ( great subs) and getting a dedicated Soundsstream Tarantula t1.4000 (awesome amp never over heats). And installing into an amp rack with 8 fans (4 push and 4 pull) it finally give me about 1 to 1 1/2 hours before going into protection. It only turns off for about 3 minutes but it gets annoying. Even after a few hours on a road trip with my family with the radio turned down pretty low and no subs installed it would still cut off. I have owned many amps (JL audio, Memphis, MB Quarts, Hifonics, Rockford Fosgate) in many cars, with more serious systems then I have now (2 JL w3 15's, 3 Memphis M3 12's) and have never had an amp get hot as quick and often as this one. Also at higher volumes this amp distorts very bad. I like giving new companies a chance especially American made ones but this amp did not impress me. I have spent less and got a lot better. It is a beautiful amp and very small but I think its handling capabilities are a little exaggerated (this is in my opinion from my experience with it).
