Subwoofer Specifications

Power Configuration
PA Subwoofers can be active or passive. Active subwoofers have a built-in amplifier that is designed to power the subwoofer, Passive subwoofers require an external amplifier to power the subwoofer.
Number of Drivers
This is the total number of low-frequency drivers in the PA Subwoofer enclosure.
Driver Size
This is the size of the low-frequency driver(s) in the PA Subwoofer.
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
29 - 165 Hz
Maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level)
This is the maximum Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of the PA Subwoofer. The higher the SPL rating, the louder the subwoofers are able to go.
These are the types of input connections that the PA Subwoofer has.
These are the types of outputs that the PA Subwoofer has. Outputs are typically found on active subwoofers that are capable of powering additional passive subwoofers/speakers.

Passive Subwoofer Specifications

Peak Power Handling
This is the maximum amount of power that the subwoofer is capable of handling. It is measured in watts.
Program Power Handling
This is the amount of program power that the subwoofer is capable of handling. It is measured in watts.
Continuous Power Handling
This is the amount of continuous power that the subwoofer is capable of handling. It is measured in watts.
This is the amount of resistance that the subwoofer presents to the amplifier. It is important to match the impedance of the subwoofer to the impedance of the power amplifier.

Powered Subwoofer Specifications

Peak Power
This is the maximum amount of power that the internal amplifier is designed to output to the PA subwoofer.
Program Power
This is the amount of program power that the internal amplifier is designed to output to the PA subwoofer.
Continuous Power
This is the amount of continuous power that the internal amplifier is designed to output to the PA subwoofer.
Amplifier Class
This is the class of the built-in amplifier. An amplifier increases the power of the signal being fed to it by taking energy from its power supply and matching the signal but increasing its amplitude. Amplifiers use many different methods for converting these electrical signals and have been categorized into classes.
These are the different amplifier controls and adjustments.
Crossover Frequency
This is the frequency that the divides the low frequencies from the mid-range frequencies.

Case Specifications

Mounting Options
These are the different types of ways that the PA Subwoofer is able to be mounted. Most of these PA subwoofers are designed to be floor standing systems, however some of them can be mounted in other fashions.
Convenience Features
These are some features of the PA Subwoofer that make moving it and using it easier.
Enclosure Material
This is the type of material that the PA Subwoofer is made out of.
If the PA Subwoofer includes a grille, it will be indicated here.
