This is an awesome piece to add to your system. I currently have this unit installed. The pros, this thing has a high 7volt rms signal outputs, the ability to adjust 5 frequency within the kickers supplied ranges, 12db cut/boost on knobs associated with the 5 bands, has a built in bass knob, line switching feature, clipping indicators and green & amber change setting. The cons, only cons are stupid really and are senseless to list. Overall the kq5 is an awesome piece to add and just the look of this in your dash screams kicker performance.

A graphic equalizer typically has more adjustable bands and is less expensive, whereas a parametric will have fewer bands but offer a greater level of control and provide more tuning options. Digital equalizers will tune your system with the most detail and precision but require a computer and are typically a little higher in price.

The KQ5 will go prior to the Front Row. Just make sure with the Front Row you, or whomever is handling the install, doesn't filter out the frequencies your are boosting. Silly, but we have seen it happen. The connections are fairly self explanatory, all RCAs, and Front to Front + Rear to Rear . Obviously the the KQ5 doesn't have a Sub output, so that will have to come from your LOC. (Hopefully it is a proper one, like the Audiocontrol LC6i) .
Absolutely not. An EQ must ALWAYS be connected before an amplifier and is NOT intended to "increase volume". What you need is a more powerful amplifier. If that is out of the question, then we're afraid there is no alternative.
