Circuit Breaker Specifications

Circuit Breaker Rating
Circuit breakers are used in place of fuses to protect an electrical device from a overload or short-circuit. Unlike fuses, circuit breaker do not need to be replaced whenever one "blows". Instead, simply flip the switch on the breaker and the connection is safely restored.

The circuit breaker rating is the number of amps that the unit has been rated at. The number of amps on a circuit breaker corresponds to the same number of amps needed when using fuses.

Maximum Input Gauge Size
This is the largest gauge wire that will fit into the power and ground terminals of this device. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire is. For example, a 4 gauge wire is thicker than an 8 gauge wire and thus has higher current carrying capacity. Always do your best to get this size wire to reduce the risk of damage to your components.
Any Gauge with use of Ring Terminal AWG
Maximum Output Gauge Size
This number refers to the maximum size of wire that will fit into the output connector(s) of the capacitor, battery terminal, or any other connector with an wire output.

Nice Product One issue

August 7, 2013

It works as it should, the only thing I don't like is the posts that the wire hook up to should have more room. This is a 300amp breaker. When your talking 300 amps you really need thick wire to handle that current. I'm running 2/0 welding cable and it was a pain to get the lugs to fit on the breaker posts, I had to spend alot of time grinding the lugs to fit around the posts..

I live this product because I don't have to change fuses. All I gotta do is hit the switch when it blows

does a breaker works as a fuse?
diego on May 9, 2015
Best Answer: yes it performs the same function as a fuse, however if it pops you don't replace it you just move the arm back and your good to go. just keep in mind if it does pop you most likely have a wiring problem (short to ground, improper ground, short to power are common mistakes, but is not limited to these) and if you don't correct the problem you'll most likely cause more. a friend bought one because he's fuse kept blowing and and just kept resetting it and it fried both amps

How do I install this 300 amp circuit breaker between my battery and inverter?
barry p on Sep 11, 2014
Best Answer: since I don't know which inverter you have, or the application for witch you are using it I can only give generalized information. that being said the post next to the LED (blue) is what I used as the positive side. take a properly insulated copper cable with a ring terminal on both ends ensuring that it is not longer than 1 ft. (gauge size of wire will vary depending on watts, amperage, and voltage) and connect one side to the battery and the other to LED post (don't over tighten). take another wire and attach it to the other side of the breaker and run the wire to the inverters positive side
