not bad
Was very impressed my the midbass of these speakers. That's about it the tweeters were super harsh! I couldnt turn them down enough. Ended up getting a set of Rockford Fosgate t1 components and they are much better.

I've had these for about 2 months now and sounds great. ZERO complaints and neither do all of the other guys running them. Just do a search on them and read all of the forums. Can't go wrong here guys.

I bought these about three weeks ago along with some Image Dynamics CTX-4 coax speakers and let me tell you that they sound amazing. It took about a week at 80hz for them to break in but after that all I have is sonic bliss. If you are looking for a great set of comps up front and a matching set of coax's in the rear, you would be hard pressed to find a better set for the money. Thanks Sonic for getting me the lowest price.

I have been a fan of Image Dynamics for quite a long time and they make some of the best products around. I got a new vehicle and found my old Image Dynamics components were having issues and could't mount the units separated anyways without serious modification so went for these and they do not disappoint! Very tight bass, loud mids and highs and they LOVE power!! I needed a set that could handle 100w rms and after browsing (hadn't looked at car audio in 7 years!) This set from Image Dynamics was well ahead of every other company, especially for the price!
Not going to find any cons here, realize you are buying a super high rms, high quality set but they are not separates (components). Also realize these are basically a 3" mounting depth and the tweeter will stick up about another 1/2 inch or so depending on how you aim them. And yes, you can aim the attached tweeters with great variability on the positioning!

I purchased these speakers about a month ago for a product change(mb quart, boston acoustic, and I will say these are by far cleaner and more crisp without being harsh. Its all in the setup (tweeter angles and proper mounting-solid- that makes or brakes any speaker setup) try mounting your subs in a cardboard box and check clarity.
pros- clean clear crisp detailed tweeters (slightly bright without the metal dome tweeter ring) does not require a lot of power to get to a reasonable level. I have 300 watts feeding a ID12 V.3 D4 and 50 watts feeding the CTX65CS components and the highs are even with the bass. Changing that amp to 75x2 for more headroom this weekend when I get time.
cons- don't really have any that I can find
If you are on a budget and want really nice clear sound I would say get a set of these components and mount them correctly with at least 75 watts rms clean power and enjoy.

I kind of went out on a limb ordering these (came in a combo package with CTX-6.5cs the ID12 D4 and the RE Audio XTX-500.5) I had never heard of Image Dynamics until I had shopped around for a new system for my 04 Trailblazer. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know what sounds good, and these things do. You can definitely push things things without worrying.
Overall, these things have really impressed me. I honestly haven't really listened to these a lot (I don't sit in the back seats that often). From what I have heard though, these things are pretty clear. They can be just a little muddy in the midrange at times, but it could always be what I'm listening to. That and 2 way speakers are doing more work to cover what components do. They have a good amount of punch to them, even towards lower listening levels.
I don't know how good the real low end of these are, because I rely more on my sub to take care of that. What I do know is my system is one of the best I've personally heard in a car thanks in part to these. I would definitely recommend these.

I kind of went out on a limb ordering these (came in a combo package with CTX-6.5 the ID12 D4 and the RE Audio XTX-500.5) I had never heard of Image Dynamics until I had shopped around for a new system for my 04 Trailblazer. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know what sounds good. You can definitely push things things without worrying.
I was extremely pleased with this component set. The clarity of this set is spectacular. The tweeters can be kind of harsh, especially if you leave the crossover at it's default level. I took care of most of it through my head unit(the crossover case is really hard to open once mounted).
The woofers are also great. They have a pretty tight punch to them, even at fairly low listening levels (of course it depends on what you're listening to). I still have some tweaking to do on my stereo to get it just right, but overall the frequency response is impressive. I don't know how good the real low end of these are, because I rely more on my sub to take care of that. What I do know is my system is one of the best I've personally heard in a car thank in part to these. They are loud, bright and clear.

I bought this product from sonic electronix about 6 months ago and put them in the factory locations of my Honda Fit. I use an Eclipse CD5030 to control them and have them powered with 2 channels of a older RF amp. I went to these from a pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's and the difference is night and day. The midbass is ok, but not as great as I expected even with in and out sealed doors, but I got them for the tweets and those sound great to my ears. They seem to take power very well and I haven't been able to crank them up to hear distortion without first reaching my own limit.
My only complaint is the size of the basket is waaay bigger than I planned on. I like how beefy it feels (almost like a small sub) but it absolutely would not fit in my doors without spacers. And by that I mean a lot of space-rs. Had to find that sweet spot that would give clearance through the opening without hitting the back of my door covers!
I would definitely recommend these to anybody looking for great sound at an affordable price.
Sonix price was amazing and they arrived in perfect condition.

A little background. Replaced the factory setup in a 2011 Toyota Prerunner (4 door) pickup. Used ID 12 sub behind the seat. a Set of CTX-65's n the back doors. and 65 series components in the front doors. Running the CTX's off of head unit power believe it or not from a Kenwood Excelon. These really would sound great at about 125 watts give or take each of clean power but I did not want the headache of pushing the stock charging/battery system to power another external amp. intention of these speakers in the doors is to fill in between the sub and the front anyway. Great mid bass! mid range is decent not exceptional and the tweeters are good at the 25 or so watts running though them. Crossed over at 60HZ on up th eo do the trick. They would not hit as hard as the component set no matter what the power but are close and a great compliment. Both the CTX-65 and component equivalent are bass heavy which suits me fine. I also have deadened the doors and interior with Fatmat a great idea for many reasons...run these with a minimum of 60 watts each of good power and they'd be fine or use them to simply fill in and transition between the sub and front and you can run them with less power but cross them over for clean sound. I run Linear Power amps modded by TIPS to put out about double wattage at .001% distortion on the rest of the system and these fill in fine but wouold be awesome at 60-100 watts of clean power I may add an amp for them later on currently the entire system is right at 1300 total watts.

I'm very happy with the sound quality. Vocals and instruments are clear and never distorted at any volume. Do not expect a lot of bass from these speakers. You will need a sub to give any kind of quality bass, how much bass you want is purely a personal taste. I have these speakers connected to an alpine pdx f4 amp,HU is a Sony xav 701 hd (great sound quality and screen but nothing else!!! Its the only reason why I dont rip it out) and bass comes from a kicker hideaway. Great surround sound!
