The Lucina is also packed with high-quality sounds, all of which can be easily selected through the onboard Category buttons. Go ahead and plug in a USB stick to add backing tracks to your performances with the Audio Player feature, or you could plug in an MP3/CD player and jam along to your favorite songs. This lightweight synth has been designed to accommodate all kinds of musicians — even kids. With its spectacular sounds and expressive controls, the Lucina AX-09 packs quite a punch, and best of all: it's easy to use!
Great Sounds:
The Lucina AX-09 is loaded with 150 high-quality sounds that cover a broad stylistic spectrum - from blazing synth leads to silky-smooth pads. With the Lucina AX-09, you'll be sure to find the right sound quickly with the Category buttons. Press the Preview button to hear the currently selected sound with a pre-programmed riff. You may also assign your top 12 favorite sounds to the Favorites bank for instant recall. Reverb and volume level settings can also be stored with each individual Favorite setting.
Battery Power:
The Lucina AX-09 offers two power options: an included AC adapter or 8 Ni-MH AA batteries, enabling players to roam about the stage (batteries sold separately). A battery-power indicator alerts you when battery power is getting low so you never have to worry about missing a single note onstage.
Audio Player
The built-in USB Audio Player feature brings an entire band out of a single synthesizer. Simply plug in a USB stick with your favorite songs in MP3, WAV, or AIFF format, select the song you want, press Play and get jamming!
Hands-On Control
With the expressive controllers built into the Lucina AX-09, you'll be able to put your own unique stamp on your performances. Wave your hand over the invisible D Beam for dramatic effects, and use the Modulation Bar and Touch control to sculpt, bend and twist each sound you play just the way you like it.

Daggy but robust!
After my retro mini-keytar failed on stage in front of 50,000 people the AX09 was one of the few available to which I can hook on a strap & strut around the stage.
I love that the AX09:
1. Is sturdy, including coping with being put with cargo in a soft case (1 more lost plea to have my instrument as carry-on).
2. Doesn't have a 'neck' like the 80's keytars.
3. USB port for play-along tracks (ie. personal practice on the road).
4. That buttons are back-lit so I can see what's happening on a dark stage.
I use basic sounds - plenty of options & I believe modify-able.
What I wish was better:
1. That batteries could re-charge whilst in the keyboard (vs carrying around chargers & converter plugs on international tour).
2. That there were more colour options than heavy-metal-black & teeny-pop-girl white.
3. That the keys were 3/4 size (refer old Yamaha DX100) so the entire keyboard was smaller.
