Too Much Power To Handle
The T2D215 Power Series 15" Subwoofer by Rockford Fosgate has a peak power rating of 2400 watts and a RMS rating of 1200 watts. With this much power you can rest assure that you will be the envy of your block, as you stroll down your street with some car rattling bass. Constructed with a hard anodized cone and dust cap for strength and durability the Power Series subs will keep going now matter how long your listening sessions last. Also equipped with Inductive Damping Heat Sink, that helps radiate heat to reduce the voice coil temperature and keeps the sub operating at a safe operating temperature when pumping out high amounts of SPL. If you are looking to take your car audio system to the next level, the T2D215 will not only overwhelm you but simply blow you away.
Aluminum Dust Cap & Cone
To increase the strength, weight, and thermal capacity of the subwoofer, a hard anodized cone and dust cap has been used. A Parabolic triangular cone support is used to reduce piston flex and cone distortion. The result is excellent heat transfer, reduced distortion, higher power handling, and a better sounding subwoofer!
IDHS: Inductive Damping Heat Sink
By securing the Inductive Dampening Heat Sink (IDHS) to the top of the magnet structure, Rockford Fosgate is able to improve the efficiency of their drivers. This is accomplished by reducing the amount of distortion and back Electro-Magnetic Force (EMF). The IDHS also radiates heat to reduce the temperature in the voice coil.
Reverse Mounting Compatible
The removable trim ring can be installed in the front or back side of the subwoofer. This enables the subwoofer to be mounted in either direction. No matter which way you install the subwoofer, it will still look great with a cosmetically finished look. Inverted mounting of the sub shows off the large magnet structure of this giant subwoofer.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Conforms to CEA-2031
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
