General Features

Security System Type
This indicates whether the product is a security car alarm product, remote start module, or a combo unit that offers security with remote start features.

Security: This means that the car alarm system is just that. No bells and whistles, just a car alarm system.

Remote Start: when installed, this allows the user to start a vehicle from a remote location. Remote start modules and security with remote start alarms often require an additional vehicle specific bypass module to complete installation.

Security with Remote Start: This means that the system incorporates both features listed above.

Keyless Entry with Remote Start
Remote Start
If the alarm or remote start module has "Yes" for this value then the system has an electronic device that allows you to start your vehicle by remote control without actually being inside the vehicle or using the key. The remote start system supplies the vehicle with power and simulates a start just as if you were inside using the key. Select vehicles require additional accessories or immobilizer/bypass modules to use the remote start feature.
Keyless Entry
Keyless entry allows you to remotely lock, unlock, and open the trunk of a vehicle if that is equipped with power door lock motors (actuators) and power truck motor (solenoid). Door lock controls via the remote are found on nearly all of today's car alarms.
2-way Paging
Alarms with 2-way paging inform the user via remote vibrating/audible/visual alert when the alarm is triggered. The pager must be within range to receive the transmitted signal.
Number of Buttons on Primary Remote
The amount of buttons on the Primary Remote generally equals the number of functions that you can use your remote for. Some remotes have auxiliary buttons which can perform more than one task per button.
Main Transmitter Type
LCD and OLED transmitters display various screen savers, warnings, alerts and other features on the face of the remote, rather than first generation button-only transmitters. They provide more information typically and other features.
Professional Installation Recommended
This will indicate whether or not we recommend going to a professional installer for this item. Some items have complex installations that should only be done be professional certified installers.
Built-in Bypass Module
Replacement Remote Transmitter
Car alarm replacement remotes are used when you damage or lose your original remote that came with your alarm. Programming of the replacement remote is required and must be done on site where the alarm is installed in the vehicle. Some remotes can be used as an additional 2nd or 3rd remote on a car alarm system.

Convenient Features

Valet Mode
Valet mode is a car alarm setting that adjusts system to less sensitive settings when allowing a valet to park your car and similar settings.

Remote Start Features

Cold Start Timer
Great for those on a set schedule who need their vehicle to warm up at a specific time every morning for example.
Compatible with Diesel Engines
This means that the remote start system will work with diesel engines.

I had this system installed, but lost the remotes. Can I purchase this and program them myself? Or do I need to have it all redone?
Lyndsey C on Apr 29, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, you can program replacement remotes yourself. After obtaining replacement remotes, follow these steps:
STEP 1: Activate Valet/Programming mode by manually turning the ignition key on and off (between the Acc & On positions) five times within 7 seconds. The vehicle’s parking lights will flash once with the successful completion of this step.
STEP 2: Within 2 seconds after cycling the ignition for the 5th time, tap the Lock button once for a half second. The parking lights will flash once to confirm the transmitter has been coded. To program an additional remote, tap the lock button on each additional remote once for half a second. The parking lights will flash once to confirm each successful coding until the max number of remotes has been reached. The parking lights will flash twice after 2 seconds, exiting programming mode.

how do i program the remot start?
A shopper on Feb 4, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

If you mean to ask how to program the REMOTES , that is outlined on Page 13 of the following manual, linked below. If you literally mean to ask how to program the Remote Start FEATURE, its not a 'programmable' feature, per se; It is meant to be installed/integrated . Although some vehicles do require a Bypass Module which DOES need to be programmed. [ex: Omega OL-MDB-ALL]

Will this kit work on a 2002 Ford Explorer?
Dustin V on Jan 18, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Dustin,

Kits like the CS800-S are Universal, which is why there is not compatibility list available. Therefore it will work with your vehicle. Please check with your installer for details regarding the install. They may or may not require you to also pick up a bypass like the Omega OL-MDB-ALL .

Can I use my factory remote to star the vehicle instead of the included remotes?
Ryan on Nov 19, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

Unfortunately not. However, there are a few options to do Just that. The best option will be provided by OMEGA, like the Omega OL-RS-FO1. These kits include all Vehicle Specific wiring, and the bypass. To establish if there is one for you vehicle, please visit their website - linked below. If their fit guide does NOT provide a part number with the prefix "OL-RS-....", then unfortunately your vehicle has no solutions.;

Your next option will be the Crimestopper RS00-G4. For this, you may require a Bypass - which will be established through the same link above. If the above link provided you the OMEGA OL-MDB-ALL, then that is the bypass you will need for the install. In regards to the Actual RS00, please get with the manufacture's tech support - info below - and a local installer BEFORE getting the unit, to make sure your vehicle will allow the install.

Best Answer: Depends on the key. If you have the round gray Chrysler key then yes you need some sort of bypass. If it's the black round key then no.

I have a 2012 Tacoma. Will this work on this vehicle?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, along with an interface module. I recommend the idatalink ADS-AL CA (programmed for your vehicle). 14 years in the industry and I have not found a brand that outperforms Compustar or ADS (idatalink). I don't install anything other than Compustar and ADS anymore.
