Pac again fd4 Review

November 3, 2014

Workshop Great in my 2005 Ford f150. I used to have a fm transmitter and was constantly searching for stations that did not have interference. This unit has a clear sound. It is awesome.

I have a 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 (SE I think) with the factory head unit and this will enable me to play music through my phone.

Will this work on a 2004 Ford F150 XLT Triton that doesn't have a (6) CD changer (I only have the (1) CD player in the front)? I have a button for auxiliary, but I don't have an auxiliary port. Can I plug this in the back and gain an auxiliary port that works with my auxiliary button?
Jesse B on Aug 28, 2015
Best Answer: I have a 2004 Ford Focus ZX4. It sounds like you and I have the exact same CD player (1 disc version) and if that is the case, YES, it will work. It is not just plug-and-play though. You will need one or two (I can't remember) wire connectors in order to provide power to the PAC AAI-FD4 unit. I bought "The Hillman Group 10-Count Butt Splice Wire Connectors" from Lowes and was able to connect everything and splice the appropriate wires within about 20 minutes (I can't include the link here so just search that phrase on Lowes website).

Also - you should make sure the unit is secured behind your CD player somehow. The first time I attempted this I just let everything dangle loosely and the connection wasn't consistent so I would have to go without auxiliary capabilities occasionally. Afterward, I wedged the unit in tightly and now it's fine. Still - the best thing to do would be to actually fasten the unit to the vehicle's structure somehow instead of letting it just sit there precariously like I did.

Does this product (PAC AAI-FD4) disable the CD changer? Meaning once it is installed the cd changer will no longer function? The product description says it converts the cd changer 12-pin port to RCA audio port.
Albert on Jun 23, 2015
Best Answer: From my experience, it doesn't. I installed this in my 2006 Ford Freestyle (which doesn't have the DVD package) and the only thing it does is convert the DVD/AUX button to switch to the PAC AAI-FD4. It doesn't affect anything else.

I bought this product (PAC AAI-FD4 Auxiliary Input Adapter) and it immediately is buzzing and sounds like it's shorting out. Any suggestions to help me?
marrob on Feb 5, 2015
Best Answer: Sorry for the delay, been busy. I was told to tell you to check the aux output to see if they are plugged in all the way. Check all the connections and make sure they are completely connected. Otherwise you might have a bad one, return it and get a bother one.
