Bluetooth Connectivity
Bluetooth® technology allows two or more electronic devices to communicate with each other wirelessly, such as using your cell phones "hands-free" or transmitting music to Bluetooth enabled receiver. If a unit is Bluetooth capable, it typically can allow you to connect to your Bluetooth cell phone to make and receive calls. Others can access your phone and address book too via Bluetooth. Other Bluetooth capable units offer even more services, such as live traffic information and map upgrades.

More uses of Bluetooth technology include transmitting music to a compatible receiver, printing wirelessly from a computer, and many other wireless uses. Please see the item description for more specific information regarding what features the unit includes.

Built-In Monitor
Built-in monitor means that the item has a built-in display. Usually the monitor is linked to a auxilary video input such as a rear-view camera.
Screen Type
The type of technology used to produce the screen images. LCD, DLP, Plasma, LCoS, and CRT are the most common. 2 newer technologies include LED and OLED which use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a backlight, as opposed to conventional LCD TVs, which use cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) for a backlight.
Resolution (pixels)
A display's pixel resolution defines its ability to resolve fine details. Digital TVs and projectors measure screen resolution in pixels. The higher the resolution, the more detailed the picture will be.

Additional Audio/Video Inputs
These inputs enable the unit to receive an audio or video signal from a separate source. There are many different types of connections and ways to accomplish this. Most common are RCA Composite cables and 3.5mm mini-jack plugs.

RCA Composite Inputs
These are your typical red, white, and yellow RCA composite cables that are common among devices with audio and video inputs. The red and white cables are dedicated for audio. The red cable is for the right channel and the white is for the left channel. The yellow cable is specifically for the video signal. Because this type of auxiliary cable contains 2 channels of audio, it will support stereo sound.

This is commonly referred to as a mini-jack or a headphone jack. It is a 3.5mm plug that transfers audio only. There is a right and left audio channel on the plug which allows for stereo sound playback.

3.5mm AV Input
These plugs look similar to the common 3.5mm mini-jack, however they carry a third channel dedicated for video.

This means that an auxiliary input is possible, but only with the use of an optional accessory. These optional adapters will sometimes use the CD Changer port or other port on the back of a unit that might restrict the use of other expandability features. These accessories are typically sold separately.

2 Rear RCA Video Inputs
Clip On Mirror
Some Rear-view mirrors clip on and cover the factory rear-view mirror. These clip on style mirrors preserve the factory mirror should anything happen to the new one.
Includes Rear-View Camera
This option means that the product comes with a rear-view camera.

Excelent advice and puchase

May 19, 2016

I had done a intensive internet search to find a supplier that had decent pricing along with after purchase support. I elected, after talking to their rep.John, to purchase a system. John was very helpful as to the best system for the budget I had allocated. The order was placed, smoothly thru John, and arrived in a timely delivery. As sometimes when electronics are purchased, the monitor part of the system was defective. I called John, informed him as to what step were taken to determine it was the monitor, and found out there were no like replacement in stock. John suggested a slightly priced upgrade,at which time I agreed. As before, the delivery time was grate. I would recommend,if possible, John be given a raise and that Sonic Electronics should be given, any ones, priority for electronic purchases. Thank You, John, for Your expertise..and Sonic, for employing quality employees ! D.(Doc) Rupp

the pyle plcm7800 says two video inputs, Does that mean i can run one camera for back bumper and hook up another for the back of a tow trailer?
Richard M on Dec 3, 2014
Best Answer: yes! the monitor lets you choose the input so you can put another back looking camera, or a front looking camera! that's what I did with mine and I love it. I never thought about one on the trailer though, thanks for that Idea!!

Is this an actual rear view mirror, as well as a backup monitor? I ordered a similar item on another website and it was a monitor only (useless for vehicle use other than backing up!). Thanks....
Richard A on Oct 26, 2016
Best Answer: It is NOT a mirror; however there is a reflective quality to the black screen when it is off. In my case I wired the camera and monitor to be always on. You can placed a second camera facing front or second could be directed to a trailer hitch to use when hooking up a trailer. You use a remote cotrol or touch screen to pick which camera you want to view. My truck back window is blocked by a topper, this monitor and camera has been on of the best things I have purchased for my truck. I mounted the camera at the top of my topper about seven feet off the ground taking the place of one of the three red brake lights for a great rear view. I highly recommend this unit!! I receive no financial gain for making these statements, just a very pleased customer.

Will the backup camera automatically come on when car is put in reverse?
David B on Apr 8, 2016
Best Answer: Short a sewer yes If you wire it up that way. I wanted it on when the ingnition was on so I wired it that way. I put a topper on the truck that obstructed the view of the back window. I took off the rear view mirror but had to put it back on because this units monitor is held up by it. This was one of the best investments I put on my truck, it works GREAT!!! I can look at it anytime I want to see what's behind my truck just like a rear view mirror but with added night vision!

What is the blue wire for on the cable from the monitor? I hooked up red for +12 volts black to gnd and video and it works fine.
A shopper on Jun 21, 2015
Best Answer: I just installed that same item on my 05 Dodge Ram and didn't hook up the blue wire either. May someone else can help you. I just taped it off.
