GOOD BUY!!!
Overall I would recommend this product to any one. This head unit has many features to offer. The DVD quality is good and the Navigation works pretty well. The bluetooth feature is extraordinary and connects to pretty much any phone bluetooth capable phone. I-pod Interface could be a little better and the equalizer could also be better. Only feature that it is missing is Satellite radio but i do good without it seeing that i use my I-pod 90% of the time. I installed it myself and installation was fairly easy. If this is your first In-dash buy, then this is the most "bang for the buck"

Good product overall! I have noticed some problems from time to time. 1st problem I have is a weak radio signal when it should be strong. I solved this with a signal booster. 2nd problem I have come across is the sd cards. Every once in a while it will read bad card. You then have to take it out and put it back in. Everything else works fantastic.

Excellent Radio . Navigation is excellent. Ipod connect works good but, it could be a little better. I have it connected to 2 12inch subs the radio handles them well but you cant fine tune them as much as pioneer head unit. Other than that i have no regrets for the purchase I made. If you want a radio with nav, ipod, bluetooth and stuff for a great price this is it.

This is an all-in-one unit. If looking to upgrade, then this is the unit to own. I've owned this DUAL XDVDN8290 for just about a month. Everything works great. The bluetooth is very easy to set up and use. The DVD player with the CD combo is great for the kids, the IPOD is easy to operate as well, using the remote or the unit touch screen makes the IPOD priceless. The NAV system is right on the money. Just Add home location and the POI will take over from there. Will upgrade with headrest monitors next. SonicElectronix was a big help with the wiring harness and antenna adapter, also added the back-up camera with the steering wheel control. What more could you ask for. This is the NAV/DVD/CD to have. Compared with the other brands this DUAL can hold its own. The other brands have the add-on costs for bluetooth and ipod connections. Don't wait, this is the unit to own.

Have had this in my Expedition for about 6 months and only had a few minor issues with it. The good is that it plays all kinds of media, has ipod hookup and interface already without an adapter, and internal bluetooth. Also has AUX inputs for whatever you can come up with that needs a screen. The touch screen has a very slight delay but it works almost as well as the factory one in my 07 TL. Film quality has been very good the few times I have watched DVDs on it, and it pushes plenty of power to the speakers. With everything included in this package I could not find a better value at the time, it installed very clean into the dash (looks almost stock) and it has been a great unit.
The bad is that the ipod interface is not the best/most intuitive but it is usable, just wish you could shuffle music or search for artists/songs instead of going through them all. The upside to this is that the unit has a 3.5mm jack input and even comes with the cord so I just use my ipod through the AUX and it works great, sound quality almost the same as thru the interface.
The CD and DVD player takes a while to read the cd's but this seems to be a trend with all screens. Plays audio cds and data cds with no problem, burnt or original.
The navigation has been great but don't plan on enjoying music too much while its navigating, it pretty much constantly dings and talks to you and I haven't figured out how to make it talk less, only to shut off the sounds completely. This isnt necessarily a bad thing because you definitely wont miss any turns and if you do it recalculates quickly. It has gotten confused once since I had it and took me to a previous input when I was trying to go to a new one, but removing the sd card and replacing it fixed this.
The bluetooth also works great 90% of the time, but for some reason every time my brother calls me he cant hear a thing, but for everyone else it has worked fine as long as the windows are up and its not pouring.

I don't usually rate products, but I am compelled to rate this one! I looked everywhere for this type of unit while trying to stay with a reasonable price. THIS WAS IT!!! The price is incredible considering what it offers. Many say the Dual name is weak; I even was told by an installer it wouldn't last 3 months. She was so wrong. The system is loud. The GPS is great. The picture quality is excellent; And the multitude of other features When I first installed it the navigational SD did not work but I reformatted it with the provided CD and it has been great since. I even made back up SD cards. I really don't have a bad comment. It was an excellent investment. I did not use the supplied harnesses. I had to purchase better ones.

I would, and have recommended this unit to others but I caution buyers that some of the performance issues as mentioned in previous reviews with this unit are in fact true. One in particular is that the FM receiver does not pull in all the local stations clearly. In addition, the touch screen is not as sensitive as I am used to and the navigation screens are not as intuitive as other GPS navigation makers....but one can adjust.
On the more positive side, having blue tooth capability as a standard feature, input cluster for IPod and other video devices, and horizon navigation now having updates for the software (that are affordable) on this unit make this unit a good value.

i put this in my car about 4 or 5 months ago, and it works very well, i am very happy with it. every once in awhile the navigation freaks out, like it will say it doesn't have an sd card in it, when it does, but all you have to do is pull out the sd card and put it back in. besides that, it works really well. i love having my nintendo 64 hooked up in my car. it has all the features i need. The bluetooth is really handy now that they have the no cell phone laws.

I have to say that I bought this product because I was low-balling the model for the price. I knew that it might lack some of the style and sophistication as compared to Pioneer or Kenwood. But after my install yesterday, I have to say that I am extremely satisfied and pleased at all it can do for the price.
The unit, out of the box, is solid and well made. Well packaged, each cable individually wrapped and enough RCA plugs to preamp every output. The multi-zone feature of letting my daughter watch a DVD in the back seat, while my wife and I listen to the radio up front is pretty cool (separate LCD and headphones needed to attach to the included jacks).
The navigation is good, even though the graphic capabilities aren't as good as the big guys. The voice directions are calm, complete and the voice is soothing (I was expecting a Chinese accent. :) .
This is my second Dual radio. My 1st is still in my Mazda Protege. This one went in our Honda Element.
My only complaints: The bezel plate didn't look that great in the dash of my Element, but that was a strange fit anyway, since Elements are very simplistic. The iPod features screen is a little cramped, but I am happy it can control my iPod (iPhone actually). The Bluetooth works well and it can access my "address book", but only my recent calls and missed calls.
All in all, I like it and I would buy again. Thanks, SonicElectronix for dropping in the wiring harness too. I would buy from YOU again most of all. Great pre and post sales support as well as email follow-ups. Thanks.
