Night Vision
Some cameras are equipped with additional lighting for improved performance in low light conditions. LED lights will drastically improve range visibility and maintain a color image. Infrared LED lights have an even further visible range but lack a color image; this is a true night vision feature.

Sensor Type
Currently, cameras will typically use a CMOS, CCD or CMD sensor type. A CMOS camera is your most common type due to its low cost and quality performance. CMOS cameras also use much less power than a CCD but are more susceptible to noise interference. A CCD camera is much more sensitive than a CMOS camera so the pictures are cleaner and less grainy and perform much better in low light situations. A CMD camera is right in between the two as it has a better image quality over CMOS cameras and a comparable picture quality to the CCD cameras without being quite as expensive.
Resolution (pixels)
A display's pixel resolution defines its ability to resolve fine details. Digital TVs and projectors measure screen resolution in pixels. The higher the resolution, the more detailed the picture will be.

This is necessary when the camera is being used as a backup camera so that the orientation of viewed image is the same as if the driver is looking in a rear view mirror. Is this camera (BOYO Vision VTL300CIR) compatible with the Kenwood DDX372BT radio?
A shopper on May 13, 2015
Best Answer: Most likely. I have it hooked up to my Kenwood DDX491HD and it works fine. The only issue I had hooking it up was initially the picture was upside down but all I had to do was push the red button that comes in the wiring and it works great.

I installed this camera and it only worked once and now it says no signal checked all of my connections and they were good has anybody had this problem?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2015
Best Answer: Never had a problem with either of mine. recheck all the connections, especially the ground, and settings in the head unit. You have to have missed something.

I have just purchased this camera for my 2007 Dodge Ram. I also purchased the Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS Head Unit. My question is this, how/where do I connect the leads from the camera to the head unit? I realize where the RCA lead is plugged in, and I also know what the reverse switch is for. However, where do the black and red wires connect? I want the camera to come on when I put the vehicle in reverse. The instructions are not very good. I'm sure the black is just the ground, but I have no idea where to attach the red.
William P on Feb 29, 2016
Best Answer: Hi William,

The red (positive/power) is to be connected to any 12v source that turns on when the vehicle is put in reverse. (e.g. A reverse light, a reverse switch, a fuse, etc...) . Of course, if you want the camera to Always be on, then you're going to want to find a Constant 12v source.
