I want to install this in a 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra w/ Mach 460 audio. Other sites have stated that I need an Axxess AFDI-5V to avoid the "thump" when I turn the system on but it isn't included in the install kit . Do I need this part?

Best Answer: The factory ford amplifier only uses a 5v signal to turn on the amp, the pioneer (or any other headunit) provides a 12v signal to turn on amplifiers. if installing an aftermarket head unit with the mach 460 sound system, there MAY be a pop heard from the speakers everytime the system is turned on
