True Capacitance

Keep your lights bright and your system bumpin'! The NVX XCAP1F True 1.0 Farad Capacitor will deliver. It has been tested to be a true 1 farad capacitor, unlike nearly all of the competition which are really 0.2 farad to 0.8 farad. Being that it is a true 1 farad capacitor you know you're geting optimum performance. Capacitor Specifications

Capacitance (farads)
Capacitors are rated in farads, and at times microfarads or millionths of a farad. The more farads the capacitor is rated at, the more electrical charge (and wattage) the capacitor will hold. Capacitance is defined as the property of storing an electrical charge between two separate conductors.

Doesn't anybody know how I can utilize the built in distribution block( with two amps a mono and a 4 channel), given that this particular cap does not have a rem wire option? The only way I know is using to two external blocks.

Best Answer: As far as I can see there is no need for this cap to have a rem wire. The cap will turn it self on as soon as it detects voltage draw

does NVX XCAP1F has a remote wire in it ?

I had the same question, so after i fully charged it I had a pretrial run hooked all my cables together without run a remote wire to the cap and indeed this cap other than having a Dblock it contains an integrated remote connection with the function of a resistor. I hope this helps AND REMEMBER TO CHARGE IT BEFORE YOU USE IT.

I have a sub installed in my car and it has been working great for a few weeks now with no problems. I got in my car today and started driving around (without any music on) and my sub starts making a humming noise. It seems to get louder the faster I am going in my car and goes in and out. What kind of problem am I dealing with and my friend recommended I get a capacitor, will this help?

Best Answer: A capacitor is not a ground loop isolator, and I'm afraid it won't help in this scenario. It sounds more like interference on the signal heading to the amp. Can you isolate this by either disconnecting the RCA cable to the amp and listening for the hum, or swapping the cable. I have seen and read about folks getting hum when running their cabling beside their power, but I found by using balanced connections, I never ran into this luckily. I'd return to the cable routing and see if maybe the power and signal path are too close together. Cheers and good luck!

I have a Kenwood KAC-9106D amp hooked up to two kickers rated for 1000RMS/2000Max at 2ohm impedance... my lights dim when almost any bass hits. Would this capacitor be capable of solving my problem? I see it says up to 1200 RMS. Is that max or RMS?

Best Answer: This cap will help you out alot. I run an RE Audio amp, 2000 watts max. I run 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm to two Kicker CVR 12's and it works great. Before the cap my lights dimmed everytime the bass dropped. After installing this cap the dimming is completely gone. Plus it looks cool in my trunk as a bonus.

on this capacitor can the amp and capacitor share the same ground? i see that this cap has a Built-in Distribution Block.

Best Answer: Yes and it's works perfectly too. I have my 0 gauge going to a distro block, then my 4 gauge goes to my nvx cap, then to my mono block amp, then my 8 gauge goes to my 4 channel. Running everything off a xs power d1200 w/o big 3 upgrade and system hits hard.

What is the max working voltage? From the description, it looks like this should work up to 20V, perfect for an 18V (max, not RMS, nominal, etc.) system. However, I suspect this might just be the voltmeter's range.

Best Answer: I have found the working range to be 11-14 volts, usually 12.x. You would need a high performance battery and alternator to get 20V and probably a better performing capacitor.
