Peace of Mind for Your Car

The Viper 5706v Responder LC3 is a complete security and remote start system with a full one mile range. The remote has easy to understand priority icons and a text screen on a LCD display. This allows you to command and monitor the vehicle with simple and prioritized buttons. The five buttons control up to 24 different functions on two cars! Plus, it is the slimmest display remote on the market today but still packed with the latest features.

Not only is this a security system but it also has remote start capabilities. If the Active Temp Check is selected, the Responder will display the temperature inside of the vehicle instead of the time. This comes in handy as it lets you view the temperature before actually walking to your car. Not cool, or warm enough in your car yet? Use the Runtime reset to extend your runtime and let it reach the perfect conditions. If anything happens to your vehicle, the security system will notify you right away if you are within range, playing the Revenger siren tones.

Remote Start Car Alarm Remote Start

Allows a vehicles engine to active without physical contact from the user. This feature is useful for warming up your vehicles engine and transmission to operational temperatures. In cold climates you can have your interior hot or in warm climates you can cool it down before use. All of this can be done while in the comfort of your home or office.

Rechargeable Remote Rechargeable Remote

Going through batteries can end up being a costly endeavor. A rechargeable remote allows for more powerful transmitters and additional functions such as touch screen remotes and full color displays. These transmitters will remain at a consistent voltage during the discharge cycle to keep all functions working. With hundreds of recharges available, you save money on replacement batteries.

One Mile Range One Mile Range

Operate functions of your alarm or remote start system and receive notifications from up to a mile away. Utilize necessary vehicle functions from great distances for convenience and versatility. Forget to lock your car? Lock it from in your office, at the mall or in class. Know if your vehicle is being tampered with wherever you are.

LCD Remote LCD Remote

Receive visual confirmations from your vehicles security system or remote start system. Features such as remote start, lock/unlock, arm/disarm and trunk release will appear on the remote’s screen with its current status. An LCD remote can display warning icons when the doors, trunk or hood are open. If your vehicle is tampered with, some remotes display what part of the vehicle was affected.

Keyless Entry Keyless Entry

Performs lock and unlock tasks without physical contact with the vehicle. Power door locks can be controlled from several feet away or even within a building using a remote fob. The fob emits a radio frequency that is digitally encoded to prevent frequency stealing so no one can enter into your vehicle without your wireless transmitter.

Dual Zone Shock Sensor Dual Zone Shock Sensor

This shock sensor utilizes warning chirps for minor disturbances and will trip the alarm if it detects more serious impacts or disruptions. Most dual zone shock sensors have adjustable sensitivity to reduce false alarms or warnings. These sensors let would-be thieves know that your vehicle is equipped with an advanced alarm system and to keep away.

Dedicated Trunk Release Dedicated Trunk Release

This unit comes with trunk release capability and remote control integration for OEM alarm or add-on trunk release systems. Pop your trunk using your remote transmitter for convenience and ease of use. Carrying a handful of groceries? Arms tied up with luggage? Pop the trunk without using your key so it’s open and waiting for you when you arrive.

2-Way Paging 2-Way Paging

Send commands to your remote start or alarm system and receive confirmation that those commands were carried out. Obtain updates on your vehicles security status and get driver pages on the remote. If your vehicle is being tampered with, your remote transmitter will warn you and set off the vehicles alarm.

Viper SmartStart

Gives you complete control your vehicle's security and remote start system from your smartphone with the free downloadable SmartStart app. SmartStart eliminates the need of additional keychain remotes and as long as you in an area with cellphone reception, you don't have to worry about being in range of your vehicle.

General Features

Security System Type
This indicates whether the product is a security car alarm product, remote start module, or a combo unit that offers security with remote start features.

Security: This means that the car alarm system is just that. No bells and whistles, just a car alarm system.

Remote Start: when installed, this allows the user to start a vehicle from a remote location. Remote start modules and security with remote start alarms often require an additional vehicle specific bypass module to complete installation.

Security with Remote Start: This means that the system incorporates both features listed above.

Security with Remote Start
Car Alarm
If "Yes", the system will have alarm security features to help prevent vehicle theft and tampering. Remote start modules without alarm features will have "No" for this value.
Remote Start
If the alarm or remote start module has "Yes" for this value then the system has an electronic device that allows you to start your vehicle by remote control without actually being inside the vehicle or using the key. The remote start system supplies the vehicle with power and simulates a start just as if you were inside using the key. Select vehicles require additional accessories or immobilizer/bypass modules to use the remote start feature.
Keyless Entry
Keyless entry allows you to remotely lock, unlock, and open the trunk of a vehicle if that is equipped with power door lock motors (actuators) and power truck motor (solenoid). Door lock controls via the remote are found on nearly all of today's car alarms.
2-way Paging
Alarms with 2-way paging inform the user via remote vibrating/audible/visual alert when the alarm is triggered. The pager must be within range to receive the transmitted signal.
Number of Remotes
The number of remotes included with the alarm system purchase.
Number of Buttons on Primary Remote
The amount of buttons on the Primary Remote generally equals the number of functions that you can use your remote for. Some remotes have auxiliary buttons which can perform more than one task per button.
Main Transmitter Type
LCD and OLED transmitters display various screen savers, warnings, alerts and other features on the face of the remote, rather than first generation button-only transmitters. They provide more information typically and other features.
Sidekick Remote Transmitter Type
Some car alarms and remote start systems come with more than 1 transmitter, which is referred to as the "sidekick" transmitter. Most LCD/OLED systems come with a button-only sidekick transmitter, while select units come with an additional LCD/OLED transmitter.
LED/Display Color
The color of the LED indicator(s) on various items such as button-only car alarm transmitters, various chargers, cell phone accessories and other products.

For OLED or LCD car alarm remotes/transmitters the display color refers to the color(s) of the screen.
Number of Vehicles Supported
Some higher end car alarm systems can support multiple vehicles. This is the number of vehicles that the works with.
Number of Auxiliary Outputs
The number of auxilary outputs that the car alarm system supports. These outputs are left over from the total number of channels. They can be used to add on other options or additional features to a vehicle.
PC Programmable
Custom, advanced programming options through one or more of the following: PC, Pocket PC, PALM Pilot, Valet SW or Remote Transmitter allows for advanced controls of your alarm's functions.
Replacement Remote Transmitter
Car alarm replacement remotes are used when you damage or lose your original remote that came with your alarm. Programming of the replacement remote is required and must be done on site where the alarm is installed in the vehicle. Some remotes can be used as an additional 2nd or 3rd remote on a car alarm system.

Convenient Features

Panic Mode
Panic mode allow the user to be able to set off the alarm from the remote.
Trunk Release
The trunk release option allows for integration and control of the trunk latch. Additional parts may be required.
Valet Mode
Valet mode is a car alarm setting that adjusts system to less sensitive settings when allowing a valet to park your car and similar settings.

Alarm Features

Paging Range
The maximum distance that the car alarm system will work with the wireless remotes.
1 Mile
Most car alarms come with a siren that can be installed. The siren will sound when the car alarm is triggered the alarm goes off.
Shock Sensor
The shock sensor is designed to trigger an alarm on light or heavy impacts and vibrations (standard sensor included with most alarms).

A dual zone shock sensor is a feature of proximity and shock sensors only. Zone 1 ( light impact on shock sensor and short motions(adjustable) on proximity sensor) will trigger warn away chirp to warn intruder that car has an alarm without setting off the full alarm. Zone 2 (heavy impact on shock sensor and extended motions(adjustable) on proximity sensor) will trigger the alarm to “go off”.

Dual Zone Shock Sensor

Two-Way Paging Features

Transmitter Alert
The is the way that the transmitter, or remote can communicate alerts to the user.
Interior Thermometer
Some of the higher end car alarm systems are able to detect the temperature of the cabin. The temperature can then be displayed on the remote.

Remote Start Features

Cold Start Timer
Great for those on a set schedule who need their vehicle to warm up at a specific time every morning for example.
Turbo Timer
Some remote start systems have turbo timer feature which allows the vehicle to run for a specified amount of time after exiting vehicle. In turbocharged vehicles this prevents hot oil in the engine from choking up in the lines. Hard driving can raise engine oil temperatures to dangerously high levels. Proper cool down is essential for a healthy turbo and engine.
Compatible with Diesel Engines
This means that the remote start system will work with diesel engines.
Engine Start Intervals
Some remote start systems offer feature to protect your engine. The engine start interval feature will start the car at particular time intervals or when the engine has reached a certain temperature. This feature prevents the engine block from freezing.
Compatible with Manual Transmissions
This means that the remote start car alarm is compatible with manual transmissions. Please see the item description, manual, or your professional installer for more information as to how this feature will work with your specific vehicle.

I have only used Viper car alarms on every vehicle I've owned, they are one of the best out here, even the basic Viper alarms. I have never had any issues with viper alarms or false alarms. And I like Sonics customer service and great prices.

Does this have the Anti-Carjacking Feature (VRS) system like the viper 5904v?
davonte r on Aug 16, 2014
I have a 2013 ram 4x4.I recently had the 5706v system installed in it. the system was working fine until yesterday. when for no apparent reason the remote commands produce no results even when standing right beside the truck.. that goes for all commands. can anyone help.?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2015
Best Answer: Check to see if the alarm system lost power or the receiving antenna is loose at the connector at the antenna. You can also try re enrolling the remotes. The remotes are charged or have new batteries correct?

I have a Chrysler 300 with the alarm on the key how do i bypass it ?
Hea V on Nov 11, 2014
Best Answer: Hea V,
My Ford pickup has the alarm and remote start on the key but I never did anything to bypass the factory systems, excepting having new keys made so I did'nt activate the factory systems by mistake. Every once in a while the factory alarm will go off when I open the door, you can tell because it's the horn honking like crazy, I start the truck, turn it off and we're good to go.

Best wishes for all your days Hea V.

Best Answer: It'll work with any car once you get something like a transponder for the key. I have a push to start so the transponder corresponds with my key and allows me to remote start the engine. If you have a standard key you'll need something just like it. However your more then likely to need an extra key. Depending on the year of the car the extra key may carry a chip inside so all that will run you extra money

Is this system similar if not the same as the Viper 5906v but with a different remote?
davonte r on Sep 11, 2014
Best Answer: The 5706V is indeed the same as the 5906V in that they both have remote start, 1 mile range, car temperature, aux, directed's super encrypting, etc. As far as I can tell, the 5906V remote is the only difference and I have had both systems. The 5906V remote is color, the 5706V is not , the 5906V has remote start on the front of the remote, the 5706V has it on the side.
However, the 5906V remote is like $175.00 to replace (the 5706V is around $100.00). I have four dead 5906V remotes sitting in a desk drawer next to me right now and this is after Directed sent four remote housings free of charge (call the number on the back of the remote).
The 5906V remote has a swivel for your keys coming out the bottom of the housing, this is where the trouble starts as the swivel will break (losing your keys) then the remote goes on the fritz. You can see the loop for keys on the 5706V remote, this has held up good for me for a few years now.
Best wishes to you Davonte.

Hopefully maybe someone can answer my question to help me out so how would you guys compare this viper alarm system to the Excalibur 2060 ??
El W on Apr 18, 2016
Best Answer: I can not tell you much about the Excalibur products but the viper 5706 is a good alarm. I have installed DEI (viper products) for 14 years and have had very few issues. It is a large company and owns many brands. The R&D is there for a great product. I have installed off brand alarms and have Had nothing but problems.

I looked at owners manual pdf download. It did not show installation wiring instructions. Are instructions for interconnection to vehicle included? Can I download them to see before I buy?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

Those instructions are not supplied, because the manufacture recommends/implies that an Authorized Professional Installer is meant to do the installation. In addition, the Bypass needed for this system - assuming your vehicle requires one - can only be uploaded by said installer. Also, we do not have or offer vehicle specific wiring, because we too encourage a professional install. We support DIY , but Remote Start Kits have proven to be a precarious install that we cannot advise on.
