All around great headunit.
This head unit replaced an Kenwood double din. Kept the same amps, speakers, and reverse camera.
The sound is so much better. I used the built in auto equalization using the Pioneer mic and 5 minutes later my system sound night and day better. I spent a lot of time with REW adjusting the 3 band parametic and the Kenwood along with the amp gains and I could nowhere near this sound.
The screen on this thing is awesome. It is even better than the AHV-5700 I have in another car.

Best part of this radio is that you can have two bluetooth devices connected at the same time. I can still receive calls and my daughter can still play her music. Now that's cool!

Bought the Kenwood 573 model with the same features and hated it. It was slow, bad FM HD reception, quirky iPod connections and bad sound.
The PIONEER is Soooo much better. Fast, much better HD reception, better and smoother sound and fast operation. Its 100% better than the Kenwood

This is overall a pretty good head unit. Sound quality is great, the interface is mostly very easy to use and navigate. I love the FLAC support and the wide range of video formats. However, there are a couple issues with the overall usability and functionality which are so aggravating, they border on deal breaker.
1.) AppRadio is a terribly designed product. The interface is not very intuitive, and often there are issue getting it started. The app requires that you install a separate keyboard on your smartphone in order to function properly. This keyboard is app is so bad, that I have to switch my default keyboard settings everytime I want to plug and unplug the phone. The map/nav part of AppRadio is horrible. It can't find anything by name. Has to be exact addresses only. It says it pulls it's information from Google, but it was unable to locate certain locations of stores. When I unplugged my phone and just searched in Google Maps it found the places instantly. Very annoying.
2.) Issues when using thumbdrive—The single most annoying aspect of this head unit is that, when in shuffle mode, you can't go 'back' on a track. It's so ridiculous.
3.) Bluetooth is very clunky with my Android Phone.

So, I did a ton of research before purchasing a new Head Unit for my 2013 Honda Civic Si. Some of the Kenwoods looked nice, but really liked the equalization options on the Pioneers. So, after narrowing down that far, I had all but decided on a Pioneer 4100NEX because it has Android Auto (I'm an Android guy) and a big thing for me was to be able to use Spotify on the radio itself (like actually be able to go through my playlists and stations). Well, then I came across this new AVH-x5800BHS, which says for ANDROID devices, you can control Spotify over Bluetooth with the built-in Spotify button/source. So, I made the purchase and got it professionally installed. IMPORTANT: The Spotify over Bluetooth feature does not work until you get it home and do a firmware update! I freaked out because it wasn't working and finally realized the latest firmware introduces that feature.
Overall, this is a great Head Unit with no flaws that I have found yet! HD Radio, Spotify, Pandora, DVD, great equalization options, very nice touch screen with great brightness (I believe they used the touchscreen from the NEX models on this one).
Definitely recommend!

To start, out with the 4300dvd, and after 6 weeks of research and driving 'tuneless', the 5800bhs model graced my dashboard. Vivid, clear screen, listening to Pandora commercial free, watching dvds, and the topper,,, HD radio. My truck rocks once again. The eq is nice, and I'm still tweeking the levels. The only thing is wish would go away from the screen after a few seconds would be the preset numbers down the left side of the display. Maybe i haven't found how to do it, maybe.. great radio none the less.....

I used to have an AVIC-Z1 and loved it. Bought this stereo because my truck was stolen and figured Pioneer would be good to stay with. Difficult to set up, front speaker pre-outs sound very tinny, sub pre-outs dont work. Have tried everything to get this heap to live up to the reviews I read before purchase- bout to smash it with a hammer- back to square one.
