The KSE1500 - Electrostatic Earphone System from Shure is a premium electrostatic sound-isolating earphone and amplifier system designed to deliver the high-resolution audio to "on-the-go" audiophiles and audio enthusiasts. The electrostatic earphones feature a single driver that is matched to a USB digital-to-analog-converter (DAC) that converts analog or digital audio from portable digital audio sources or computers at resolutions up to 24-bit / 96 kHz. Streamlined controls allow for quick and easy navigation, while the enhanced audio control features an on-board four-band parametric EQ with five presets and four customizable setting to maximize audio playback fidelity. The amplifier can process digital audio via micro-USB, analog via direct line in, or bypass entirely for a pure analog signal without conversion.
The front-panel display provides easy monitoring of input source, input level meter, battery level, output volume and EQ settings. The premium housing is constructed from elegantly machined black anodized aluminum, while power is provided from an integrated rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery that can be conveniently charged from the included wall charger, or via USB while streaming audio from a computer. Compatible with iOS and Android devices, the KSE1500 ships with Lightning and OTG cables, as well as two 1/8" / 3.5 mm cables, an airline adapter, an attenuator, a 1/4" / 6.35mm adapter, two security bands, a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a leather carrying case.

KSE1500: Isolated Notes
My two cents. More in the form of a summary.
- The SE846 has more sales. It is not a cheap product but it is cheaper than the KSE1500. However, few people buy the SHA900 amplifier which gives to the SE846 a better listening experience. I would not use the SE846 without the SHA900. Personal taste. Taking that into account you will see the amount paid for the KSE1500 not that expensive.
- Extremely Important: Make sure you are not prepared for a super listening experience in the very first moments. As a one friend indicated, it will increase the enjoyment with the days. Just be OPEN and patient.
- Second Extremely Important: Make sure the source of the sound is top quality. Use very high quality files like FLACs and if possible beyond 600 Kbps. I have not bought a DAP (Player Device) for the KSE1500. I use it with my iPhone 6, or with my Bose Companion 5 with my computer. I know Bose is not necessarily a reference for earphones or headphones, but I have come to appreciate the Companion 5. I lead a minimalist life and I did not want to buy special music equipment. Only for your reference, I heard for my final opinion:
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra
Pachelbel: Canon in D
FLAC file, 600 Kbps
Yo-Yo Ma
Bach- Six Unaccompanied Cello Suites, Number 1
FLAC file, 600 Kbps
Specially in the last one, the experience is pretty vivid, as if you close your eyes, you can hear (and feel?) intensely the bow movement in the strings of the cello. There is nothing there except the cello. It sounds very real. But all the instruments will sound real as well, if there were more.
- Be sure to be careful with the accessories that come with the KSE1500. Some are very particular like the Lightning to Micro-USB Cable. I lost mine in the second day I received the KSE1500. I had to order the cable directly from Shure. It ended positively as I ended buying the two versions of the cable: 8" and 36". The second one gives you a little more freedom of movement in some situations.
This is an outstanding product. I cannot buy a product beyond the price of the KSE1500. I did a huge effort to buy it. As a musician in the past, I developed some skills to enjoy a little bit more music (like identifying instruments, rhythm patterns, and selectively listen to some instruments, harmony, counterpoint, orchestral arrangement and composition, etc). For the money, it gives me the musical listening experience of more advanced equipment that cost much more thousands.
Thanks for reading.

Best Sounding Headphones By Far!
After the first 5 minutes of use with these headphones I knew I couldn't listen to streamed music anymore. I paired these headphones with Comply tips so that it would create a perfect seal. I don't get any interference from the cable moving around and the sound is completely cut off from the outside world. The clarity and staging that you get from these headphones is basically unmatched and very natural. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who is out there looking for a perfectly paired DAC and earbuds.
Throwing in the towel
WOW! These are hands down the best in-ear monitors ever. They pretty much spank everything else out on the market and I've heard plenty of others. They sound better than any headphone I've tried in general. Well..........except for the orpheus. The soundstage, bass, detail, etc, etc, etc are exceptional. These work well with every genre I've tried but I really like the way drums sound on them. Dave Matthews Band never sounded better until now. I don't like that they don't fit securely in my ear and the stiffness of the cable makes them move around a little too much. Maybe I just need to find the right replacement tip. They are super expensive but with the amount of time I spend in the studio mixing they are worth it.
WOW very impressed
I had the opportunity to use these headphones for a couple of hours and I was thoroughly pleased with them. I was just listening to some hip hop through the auxiliary cable from my iPhone but wow do these headphones pack a punch. The sound was very balanced and everything was clear and concise. I really enjoyed the low boost setting in the equalizer menu when listening to hip hop. These headphones offer a lot of flexibility in terms of audio settings and have a lot of preset options available for the listener that requires a very refined sound. Awesome headphones.
Amazeballs!
My God people are these for real!? I can't believe the sound quality of these in-ear headphones. They sound better than almost every high-end over-ears I've heard (such as the HIFIMAN HE1000s). They hit low frequencies that seem impossible for an earbud and Mids/highs are crystal clear and not overdone. Control is also the name of the game with these as you can adjust the crossover points and the dB level at each (also know as an EQ, lol). These are worth every penny in my book. WOW, just freaking spectacular!
