One of my favorite headphones!
These headphones are awesome! I have had the opportunity to try out a very wide variety of headphones ranging from the consumer level all the way up to the professional studio level and the Audio Technica ATH-R70X are definitely a solid set. The headphones are very comfortable and lightweight that sometimes after long periods of listening I forget that I am even wearing them. I like that these headphones do not have as much sound leakage as most open back headphones and have great dynamic range. The lows, mids and highs are super clean and precise with a well balanced sound stage. I would definitely recommend using an amplifier to get the most out of these headphones.

The headphones sound good. I'm a big fan of the sound. very spacious, detailed, and open. They are very enjoyable to listen to. The winged headband fitment design looks freaking weird, but actually makes a lot of sense. They are lightweight, put low pressure on the head, are really comfortable, and don't mess up my hair like other headphones. Yeah, I worry about my hair. I'm sick of wearing headphones that are heavy and leave a big divot in my hair right before I walk into a work meeting.
I highly recommend these headphones. The price was a little high for what I was accustomed to paying for headphones, but I have no buyers remorse. 100% worth it.
PROS
- They are open back so the sound is more spacious and clear. This is the sound I prefer.
- Very comfortable.
- Detachable cables
- Headband fitment "wings" are lightweight and don't mess up my hair
CONS
- They are open back so all my co-workers hate me when I listen loudly.
- The detachable cables are proprietary to Audio Technica... which means expensive replacement or finding some other off-brand that is cheap
- Higher impedance so an amp is preferred (I use the Apogee Groove on my Mac. its legit)

I have longed for a great set of headphones/earbuds and these take the cake, the ice cream, and even the clown. I've been listening to and enjoying music that I gave up on years ago, the W60 in-ear monitors have changed the way I listen to music, permanently.

Overall (4 Stars): The Westone W60s are truly amazing. The detail of the total 12 drivers are outstanding and they sound good with any genre of music you can throw at them. Another great feature is they can be used with any device without sounding muffled or under powered. When amplified, they sound even better. They are never too bright or overdone across their entire frequency range.
Value (3 stars): I gave them 3 stars as they are expensive for in-ear headphones, but the technology and sound quality more than make up for the premium price. There's nothing on the market that I've listened to that comes close to these.
Look and design (4 stars): This is one place I think they could use some improvement. For such expensive headphones the design and coolness factor are a little lacking. I've also had trouble with the covers on the earpiece breaking. I called Westone and they just sent me a bunch of covers for free. Also, all of the included accessories never leave you wanting or needing anything. The hardshell case is almost indestructible too.
Durability (3 Stars): They get a rating of three stars because of the of the covers cracking about once a month. In all fairness I do use these about 8 hours a day and a few hours on the weekend, so they get a lot of use.
Features (4 stars): With the amazing 6 balanced armature drivers per ear, there's not much that comes close to these. As stated earlier they also come with a huge variety of accessories. It also comes with two different cords, one with a mic and controls for an iPhone/iPad and one without.
Ease of Use (5 stars): They in ear headphones. Not much to say here. Totally easy to use.

These are by far the best in-ear monitors I've ever heard and they beat out many over-ear cans except on soundstage. They are well balanced or just tuned perfectly for my ears. Highs are rolled off to keep from being harsh but no detail is lost. The mids and bass are crossed over perfectly. These aren't bass heavy but there is still enough, probably because of quality. I love playing my music loud all the time but no joke these are the first headphone that I don't have to or necessarily want to turn up loud. They sound great with spotify running off the phone but when I upgraded to the LG V10 which has a hi-fi dac and got Tidal hi-fi there is definitely a noticeable difference. They fit comfortably and isolate well....enough so I don't hear my girl nagging. Besides the price you will not be disappointing. Sonic worked a great deal so I pulled the trigger and don't regret it. Just buy it and don't worry about any other headphones. The phone is great too.

These are by far the best I've ever heard. I travel a lot and it blocks noise while delivering crisp, clear sound. As a rummer they also fit my ears perfectly, with the many choice of buds that are sent with it, and stay nicely in my ear with the same sound quality as if I was still. A little costly but if you use headphones as much as I do, it was worth the investment!

I've been listening to these for a couple weeks now and I think they certainly prove themselves as high-level in-ears. They actually remind me a lot of the Sennheiser HD800 with the balance that they have.
The sound is crisp and clear all around. Some have said the bass is low in quantity, I think it's well balanced and always shows up when the song calls for it. Again, it reminds me of the HD800 in the way it gives what is asked without really anything extra. In that sense, it can seem a bit boring or flat upon first listen but that's because it's not imparting a lot of its own flavor.
Build quality is very solid and the two cables are both quite nice. A ton of comfortable tip options included as well -- I often have problems finding proper tips but I was able to narrow down pretty quick with the included ones here.
As an overall package, I have a hard time faulting the W60 and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a more neutral/balanced sound.
