Bass Slammer unloaded, vehicle-specific enclosures are inspired by the same technology incorporated in MTX ThunderForm enclosures. Bass Slammer enclosures are available for many of the hottest-selling vehicles on the market and are made of a high-density polyethylene resin to ensure that you don’t get any of the “ping” common in fiberglass enclosures. The resin is color-matched to the interior color options available for each vehicle.

box for 01 dakota
Its a great box if you want the sound quality of subs and also the use of the back seat. It took a little while to put in because you have to take out the back side panels to be able to unfasten the stock compartment. I put 2 MTX thunder-thin series subs in and they fit perfectly and produce much better sound than the two 12" JL Audio W1s i had before that just sat ontop of my seat in a custom box i built. The only real downfall of this box is that it is completely plastic and at higher volume levels there is much more rattling than I would like but that is pushing the subs pretty hard. Also the box rises the seat to a slight incline from its stock position. Overall its a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who wants the use of their back seat but doesn't want to give up sound quality.

Pros:
1) cool design, allowing full function of back seats
2) its made of sturdy plastic
3) has a spot for the truck jack
4) includes gaskets & screws for the subs & mounting bolts
5) it makes the back seat rise at a 15-20 degree angle & a half inch height increase, it more comfortable for adults.
Cons:
1) mounting holes don't line up exactly, need to angle the mounting bolts when installing.
2) the radius for subs to be installed from the top, is very small. It needs to be wider.
3) the wire terminal is setup for bridged connection. I had to buy another terminal to a regular setup.
4) its made of plastic
5) this box is mainly or only made for SHALLOW SUBS.
6) not much room for sub
7) the mounting screws do not screw down all the way, so I'm needing to buy more washers to make it bolt down securely
8) too much for a box made of plastic & measurements inaccurate
Other thoughts:
I bought 2 Kicker 07CVR104, it does not fit. After contacting Kicker & MTX about subs that may fit this box, I get the run around. To be safe, buy only a shallow-mount sub for this box. I then bought Kicker CVT104 (10CVT104), it fits (had to press really hard on the mounts to get it flushed). I think MTX had grad students design the measurements for this box. I would recommend this box ONLY since it allows full function of the back seat (this is a must when you have a family). The wire terminal i bought had 2 pairs of terminals. This terminal is very rare, I found it only at Amazon

I have this setup in my truck, it is a great sub enclosure. They pound hard and don't rattle the truck at all if you know how to set up the subs. it is a bit hard to install considering you have to basically tear down the rear interior of the truck. I love my subs and all my friends say they can hear me coming. I would most definitely recommend this to a friend, the only downfall is you need to find a place to put the amp.
