well lets start off with i have NEVER made a single review on anything mostly cause i didnt see it was worth my time and out of all the subs iv ever had 2 sets of rockford fosgate 12 inches and a 15 inch memphis and more this jbl is fanfreakentastic iv got it hooked up to a mtx thunder 671 watts rms at a slight bit over half way on the amp and it just sounds so smooth and hits realy well. i dont have a single con about it yet and dunno if i will either

I blew it up today. It lasted about a year. I never ran it too hard, until today. I was in the mood for some loud deep bass (Ludacris). It only made it through 2/3 of the song before it smoked. I had it in a sealed custom box built to spec and powered by a memphis mcd1000 mono amp only at 1/2 gain. It is a little too much power but it was never sloppy. It just couldn't take the pounding.

These subs have such a high max power rating and that's because JBL makes sure it can take it. If you want the best of both worlds ( spl and sq ) go with JBL. A friend has a system with 4 of these doing mid 150s and hair tricks all day.

Okay, it's a 15" subwoofer so it puts out a lot of bass. Of course it should. I've had dual 10" and different single 12" subs in my truck. One day I said to myself... I have room to fit a single 15" so try one out. I'm glad I did. This is what I was looking for. It has a high sensitivity rating and does not require a lot of power. I'm giving it 500 watts RMS from an Eclipse XA1200 amp. What I like is that you can play your music at low volumes and it will provide all the bass you need without even barely moving the cone and it's not boomy bass. On the flip side if your traveling at 75 mph with all the windows rolled down and you turn up the volume it will really pound you like crazy and that's the difference in my experience between dual 10's and single 12's. I'm very happy with it.
