Ultra-Convenient Solution for Bassheads Who Occasionally Need Thier Trunk Back
I've been running a subwoofer and amplifier (an all-in-one setup) in my car on and off for well over 12 years now. As I've gotten older, it doesn't always make sense to have a subwoofer taking up space in the back of the car, especially for family vacations and trips to the hardware store. When I first saw the VIBE Fast Audio Plug, I pronounced, “Shut up, and take my money!” Okay not exactly, as the price seemed a tad steep for me, but ultimately it was worth it though.
As for the product itself, it is very sturdy. I’ve owned it for about 6 months now, and I have had my sub in and out of my car more than a dozen times since installing the VIBE plug. Even though I’ve connected and disconnected it several times, it still fits as snug as it did when it was brand new. The installation was a breeze, just two quick steps beyond what you need to do to connect your amplifier in the first place. Optionally there are holes where you can mount either side to your box or other mounting surface, but I have not and it’s never come unplugged.
As for regular use, I typically remove the inline fuse prior to disconnecting the plug. There were no instructions included to recommend that, but it just seems like a good idea. The connections are set into the plastic shroud, so there shouldn’t be a major concern for making contact to the chassis, but I would still err on the side of caution. For quick tests and such, I have removed it without removing the fuse. Prepare for a spark if the remote wire is live, signaling the amp to draw power. In my case, with the car on, plugging it in resulted in a startling pop from the sub as well. It wasn’t one of my brightest moments in hindsight, so just pop out the fuse if you plan to disconnect or reconnect it.
Bottom line, this is one purchase this past year that I am completely satisfied with. The reasonable cost certainly outweighs having to fiddle with an allen wrench every time I need to pull my sub out. And no more worries about shoving frayed wires into my amp, or having to re-strip the wire to get it to fit right.

These are very good for an install (such as mine) where you would want the ability to quickly disconnect your amplifiers to make use of trunk space (or whatever other situation that may arise).
Note: The interconnects could have been made to fit more snug and securely together. Take this into account when planning an install and lay out your wires in such a fashion that they are not taut, as this can cause the connector to disconnect unwantedly.

This product is exactly what I was looking for (searched high and low). Rather than use it to connect an amplifier, I used the two, larger, connections only to "quick connect" my subwoofer. I have a Dodge Ram Quad-Cab Pick-up and created a fiberglass enclosure to go under my driver-side rear seat. Because my truck also serves as the family sedan, I wanted to be able to "reclaim" that storage space, for long family trips. With the Fast-Plug, I am able to quickly remove the subwoofer, when ever I need to. In addition, it is more aesthetically pleasing than some of the other quick-disconnect methods that I was considering. I haven't had it very long, so I can't testify to its durability. However, I did notice one drawback during installation. The hex screws, which are used to secure the connections, are made from soft metal. In addition, they seem to be just a bit off from standard wrench sizes. You have to be very careful not to strip the inside of the hex screws upon installation.

I have a zenclosures sub box in my 350z and have my amp mounted to the back of the box. The quick connect/disconnect allows me to quickly remove the box if needed.

My remote wire for my sub was hooked up wrong and draining the battery once in a while. With the plug installed I could just unhook it when I knew I wasn't driving my car for a while. It could have a slightly more positive lock thingy so it wouldn't come apart so easy. I looked all over for something like this and it was the only one I found really happy with my purchase would definitely buy another.

This was a great idea for my application and it worked great for awhile but then the contacts became intermittent. In other words, sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I assume that the contacts aren't rated for the amperage my amplifier is drawing and therefore the contacts aren't holding up. I haven't investigated why the contacts aren't working yet, but will look at it soon, as I really want this piece to work. This would be a great product if the amperage rating was higher.
