For over two decades, AudioControl has been designing and manufacturing award-winning autosound products at our factory located in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. During this period, countless sound-off winning contestants have chosen AudioControl products to give them the competitive edge. "Can you really win without AudioControl", was part of an article written commenting on competition winning systems. Nothing sounds better than an awesome recording played back on a kickbutt system. Unfortunately, the acoustics of your vehicle can take away from your systems performance. While AudioControl products do not change the laws of physics (although they act like they do), autosound enthusiasts have long known that AudioControl products "make good stereo sound better".
The environment of today's automobiles present challenges for the installation of a performance car audio system when matched to a factory source unit. Less than ideal speaker locations coupled with an acoustically unfriendly environment can compromise the experience. Fortunately for audio enthusiasts, the new AudioControl DQ-61 delivers the processing power necessary to maximize the audio experience.
AudioControl engineers designed the DQ-61 to be an extraordinary processor, so subsequently it is equipped with a number of installer friendly features that simplify the OEM connection and calibration process.
User friendly Signal Delay controls allow the listeners the ability to align themselves between the left and right speakers plus seamlessly blend in the subwoofer to the listening environment. Discrete equalization controls provide listeners with powerful processing to properly "tune" their audio systems and enjoy truly amazing sound.
Designed for maximum sound quality and enhanced audio performance, the DQ-61 is the latest AudioControl processor to incorporate AccuBASS™. This patent pending process automatically corrects for the bass roll-off that is common with many factory-installed audio systems.
Because of speaker placement limitations and the seating positions in a car, it is almost always the case that the driver of the vehicle is in an incorrect acoustic alignment. This exists because the driver is close to the left side speakers and further away from the right side speakers. Thus, the sound from the left side arrives much sooner than the right side. By delaying the appropriate speakers for just a few milliseconds, the DQ-61 is able to allow the signal to arrive at the same time putting the driver in perfect acoustical alignment.
To protect OEM speakers, car manufactures often limit the bass frequencies at higher volumes. AudioControl has developed a patent pending circuit called AccuBASS circuit to compensate for this factory roll-off. The AccuBASS circuit automatically engages at a preset volume level and reverses the factory bass roll-off to give you the music the way the artist intended it to be heard.
The DQ-61 is equipped with six high-impedance speaker level inputs that allow it to accept amplified signals from any factory installed amplifier, even Bose. Unlike an inexpensive passive line output converter, the DQ-61 offers the highest possible sound quality and performance.
Like all of AudioControl's high performance signal processors, the DQ-61 is designed to offer maximum audio performance and control. All six output channels are equipped with highly accurate graphic equalization filters. This equalization allows for the taming of the most demanding car acoustical challenges or correction of factory radio response curves.

I really like this thing!
For a processor that is all externally controlled and does not require a computer for programming, this thing does it all!
Channel summing (for crossed over factory radios), pre-fader gain control (for factory fade correction), Auto-On feature that, in most cases, does not require an external remote turn-on source, very quiet sound output, inaudible unit power up, easy jumper settings and, unlike the LCQ-1 (which I owned before this unit), there is the addition of the 40hz sub eq sectioin..
Time correction and Accu-Bass, though very easy to dial in and a fantastic feature, is just the cherry ontop!
I have installed this in my 2012 Ford Focus SE, Non-Sony application, and have had ZERO issues. I now have bass clear down to 20hz (between the Accu-Bass and a low tuned sub box).
No complaints, five stars all around! Only things I won't vote 5 stars is Durability (I haven't had it long enough) and design (its not a great design but it is very functional)...
But, because of the success of this install, I now have 5 other install orders lined up!
I would suggest the addition of a 25hz bass knob on the sub EQ section, and on the channel 1 & 2 section, it would be great to have 6khz and somewhere between 12-15khz Hi resolution knobs to really control your ugly factory HU's. That's no complaint, just a suggestion...

found this helpful.Just what I needed!
I just bought a 2016 Ford Transit with the $2000.00 iSync sound system. I love the features that came with it but the sound was pure CRAP! the DQ-61 allowed me to keep my integrated system and change out the amp and speakers. The EQ on the DQ-61 was way better than i thought it would be and the Accu-Bass circuit works great. The remote sub control works better than the one that came with my amp.I can't say enough about this thing!
