Amazing little receiver from alpine. Very decently priced for the bang it'll add to your car audio. Controls are real easy to get used to and the Bluetooth works great (it does skip a little if your more than 120ft away from the receiver, but that's nornal)
Go ahead and buy this!

Alpine has put out another great head unit. Easy to install. The Bluetooth pairing works flawless as well as the mic for making hands free calls through the speakers. Love the USB and 3.5mm input jack option as well. Thanks to Sonic Electronix for the affordable pricing and fast delivery!

Easy unit to use and is pretty light weight. The pandora feature works very well and the I-phone interface works exactly as it should... It does not play CD's, nor have I figured out how to change the face color.

First disapointment, its the same package as the CD receivers just with the port blocked off and the drive not installed. So if you are hoping to free space behind the dash, no luck here. I had to extend the unit out and modify the dash support inside just to get it to, mostly, fit in the sock location.
The reason I tried this HU was that I was having trouble with my Windows 8.1 phone cutting out with my Pioneer mechless through BT so I decided to try the Alpine. It handled the drops better by just fading for a moment but not actually dropping completely out, but didn't work at all for hands free calling or texts. I think they may have over-optimized it for the iOS devices. It doesn't help that recent "updates" for the Windows Phones have effectively broken hands free. It won't connect to my Mom's MS Sync equipped F150 at all anymore, so it isn't just out of spite for other brands.
The next issue was the attachment for the microphone was disappointing as well. It was bulky, had a small adjustment range, and was fragile. I couldn't tell you about sound quality since the hands free was a no-show, but the design was a very good "shotgun" style vented aperture, so it should have good noise rejection.
I missed the clean look of my Pioneer, the USB and Aux jacks on the front cluttered up the faceplate.
The EQ on the unit is freaking awesome and the outputs for the amps are clean and strong. Sound tuning is definitely better than the other mechless units I have seen.
Still dreaming of someone making a REAL mechless HU that is optimized for BT, digital media, and awesome sound shaping, and external amplification (no onboard amp wasting space and $$$). Even considering starting my own company to make them I feel it's such a huge gap in the high-end market.

A great head unit if you don't have CD's. I like that it Bluetooth connects to my phone and plays Pandora. I also think the Alpine tuning app is pretty cool. A great unit for such an inexpensive price.
