American Bass DX 12 (DX124)

Great sub

First of all I'm a Memphis fan I've had the pr12 and br12.. I damaged my br12 bass reference an was looking for an equal cheap alternative.. An this sub delivers!! It's loud an deep!very good quality. I'm only pushing 200 watts an it sounds damn good.i received the updated version with the updated dust cap! Which was good didn't have the big Dx on it!!which was cheesy. It has the American bass logo on It. Very good performance an musical I'm actually usin as a sq sub. This sub is a steal for the price.

One of the better subs at or around 60$ that i've heard

Let us compare shall we.
I currently have two 12 inch Rockford Fosgate p2's (2016 model) The cost about 95 dollars on this site. Rated at 400 watts rms. These subs cost about 65 dollars...rated to take 400 watts rms. The RF play the highs well and mids great! but don't hit the lows all that well. And this is in a ported box tuned to 33 hz with each sub getting 1.61 cu. Boxes tuned at 30-35 give you good lows as well as mids. These subs played the lows VERY well. and the mids weren't too bad at all. Now granted these were in a box in my wifes old kia soul. That car had minimal trunk space so I grabbed a custom made box that fix were the trunk divider was, between the spare tire and the trunk lining. I couldn't tell you what that box was tuned to so the mids might play a lot better in a box better designed. Either way I would honestly choose these over my current p2's. Too bad we included them with the kia when we sold it to my friend here on base. For 64 dollars haven't seen too many better subs for the price. MAYBE one or two.
