I have these installed in the doors of my Scion tC, dampened with Second Skin's Damplifier. The mid-bass is incredible! Not overly boomy, loud, or annoying, but just right. Punchy is a good word, I guess?! While the mid-bass is incredible, the mid range detail in incredible! I'm now hearing details in recordings that I never knew were there! It's minor, but it adds a touch of realism to hear things like the breath a singer takes before his or her second verse, or the slide of a guitar string as a player moves down the neck of a guitar. The details all come to life when listening to music through these components!
The tweeters are unnoticeable, which I believe is a good thing. Have you ever listened to MB Quartz components? What stood out while listening to them? The tweeters, right? Well, I believe them to be harsh. NOT so with DLS! The soft-dome tweeters blend seamlessly with the mid. Nothing is too harsh or loud. This is, of course, an effect of the selectable tweeter attenuation switch on the set's crossovers, which are equally high-quality and well-constructed.
All in all, a fantastic set of components for at least $75-100 less than it's next closest sonically-matched competitor. Give them at try. Everything you've read about DLS is spot on. You won't be disappointed!
