I've had this unit installed in my car for about 6 months now and have had no real complaints about anything. I do not have an external amp, but this unit provides plenty of kick for 98% of the time (lots of road noise in my car, not the stereo's fault). The HD radio part is the best. I use an amplified antenna too, which only improves the reception. CD and iPod sound is superb, although there seems to be a floor at about 60 Hz on the AUX input. The CRS function is quite cool after you change the weird default settings. Setting the equalizer is too complex for an on-the-road adjustments.

This product makes such a difference even without the subwoofers or new speakers! My sound quality is much better than before, not to mention how many stations I get now. Now everytime i drive my other cars i get mad because i dont have the stations i have in this one. Also, I love being able to goto the bank or in tunnels and not losing my music! The surround sound makes it better too, i feel like im watching the music live. This is by far the greatest product I have ever bought.

This head unit is amazing! I had a Kenwood KDC-135(HU) and a MA Audio MPE200(EQ)with powerbass speakers and a JL Audio 12W3v2 D4 subwoofer(all powered by amps), I replaced the Head unit and removed the Equalizer, and it never sounded this good! This thing runs circles around the old stuff. The HD sounds great! No static what so ever. This thing is loaded with so many features that I had to use the manual. This is the first time I have ever needed to use one(not including the Lego ones from when I was young)! I am not sure if a lot head units have SRS but this one does! It has 3 presets, it is also fully customizable! You can change the front and rear SRS FOCUS® levels and the front, rear, and subwoofer SRS TruBass® levels! Not only that you can mix the front signal with the rear signal for the people in the back seats. This makes a huge difference in the listening quality along with the 5V preamp output. I have NEVER heard a bass guitar in my music unless there were no other instruments playing... all of the sudden it's in every song and I AM LOVING IT! Molto bella musica! Changing the time could not be easier. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO KNOW THE TIME TO SET IT! Since it is HD Radio, all I needed to do was set the clock for AUTO and set my time zone and it did the rest. Not only that, THERE IS A $50 MAIL-IN REBATE!
The only problem is when you get out of reach of the HD it switches back to analog and sometimes they will play at the same time and you will have an echo. But that is what happens when you live in the middle of the woods.
