No need to cut the factory wires

March 28, 2014

Just buy this harness for your car and save time with not having to cut your wires. All you have to do is plug this in to your factory harness and wire to your new radio harness with ease. It's as easy as it gets.

Plus it makes it easy to put the old radio back in should you decide to trade the vehicle in later and keep your nice after market radio.

Metra 70-7550 Wiring Harness Adapter

February 23, 2015

I purchased this wiring harness adapter for a 1998 Nissan Altima. I recommend this adapter for this vehicle. It was almost perfect match. Some of the wires that did not match were simply because the stock radio did not need them. The wiring directions worked okay. Understandably, the directions cannot know exactly what every car's original harness wire colors will be, but it was easily figured out.

Makes installing aftermarket radio a breeze.

March 7, 2016

Made it super simple to wire up an aftermarket radio in my 2004 Titan. No splicing into wires just plug into factory harness and match up the wires to the new radio, To reinstall OEM radio just simply remove this item and plug factory harness back into original radio.

Which gauge butt connectors will I need to install this wiring harness?
Alex G on Jan 29, 2016
Best Answer: The wires are mostly 22 gauge, with a couple of 18-20. To save space, I soldered with wires and then put heat-shrink tubing over to insulate. That many butt splices take up a lot of room behind the radio.

Best Answer: It would be hard to diagnose your issue wihout seeing it for myself as it could be anything. First of all, make sure you use a chassis ground with your head unit wiring harness. Just butt connect or solder some additional #14 or #16 wire (try and keep as short as possible)to the black wire coming off your head unit harness and attach a ring terminal to the end. Then screw the ring terminal to a clean metal surface on the car chassis. Do not connect the ground on the head unit harness with the black wire on the adapter, it will not work. Second, make sure the aftermarket female harness snaps into place with the stock male harness. Third, check your fuse panel for blown fuses and check the 12v ignition wire (red wire) and 12v constant wire (yellow wire) with a multimeter to check for shorts. Lastly, make sure the head unit works properly, try it with an alternative power source.

I have a 2009 palomino puma camper which came with a concertone zx50 stereo. I'm replacing it with JENSEN JWM6A stereo. I think I will need a harness for the new unit can you Help?
A shopper on May 31, 2016
Best Answer: This particular unit is listed for Nissan and Infiniti models 1994 - 2012 only. You can make it work if you choose to by hardwiring the harness to the new radio and the old connector to the old radio. In other words one side of the harness to the male Metra (z50) and the other side to the female Metra(Jensen). All you will gain is to make it easier to change out later if and only if a Puma harness in not already installed. Page 4 of the z50 manual has the wiring diagram and also page 4 of the Jensen manual has it's wiring diagram. Just match the wires up on both to the diagram for the Metra 70-7750. An easier method would be to cut the male connectors off of the z50 leaving enough wires to butt splice to the male connectors of the Jensen. You can download both wiring diagrams from the respective manufactures websites. Also you can request the Puma manual from their website. You will need the last couple of digits from your VIN number. The x50 has one 14 pin connector and one 4 pin connector. The Jensen has one 20 pin connector.
