Thunder High-performance Subwoofers pick-up where other brand’s so called top-of-the-line woofers leave off. Packed with features, these subs are the easy choice for rock solid bass and reliability.
Thunder5500 High-performance Subwoofers are available in sizes from a pounding 15” to a killer 8”. All offer a variety of features including high power handling, rubber surround, tinsel leads woven in the spider and mated to heavy duty chrome push terminals, and attractive cosmetics. The voice coils are wound with 428°F aluminum, for an extremely reliable, high power handling subwoofer. And don’t forget MTX's proprietary Spider Plateau Venting technology, which ensures a cooler, more reliable subwoofer.
Thunder 5500 and Thunder4500 subs feature the same ALDS (Asymmetrical Linear Drive System), found in Thunder SuperWoofers (the flat progressive spider, combined with the extended pole piece). We've added some other touches to make sure these speakers perform way, way, past your expectations. The voice coils are wound on an Apical voice coil former for high power handling. The strontium ferrite magnet yields a highly efficient speaker (more efficient means better use of your amplifier power). The precision stamped basket is as durable as it is attractive.

Well, first of all, I bought this for my son on eBay, because he didn't have an account. He was the one that wanted it, and not me. I could never see the need of having something you could hear plainly at a stadium mounted in my car. It must be doing exactly what he wants, because I can hear him a half mile away in an enclosed car before he gets here. He still has it, so he must like it. So, I'll rate it the way I believe he would.

The 8" subwoofers are great they look really small but they are loud I was surprised on how low they sound. I can almost compare an 8"sub with a 10"sub these are some really good speakers i recommend anyone who dose not have much space to try these here.

Just put an order in for this sub, wanted a JL8w3v3 but decided on this sub because I could wire it to 2 ohms. I bought the only bandpass box for 8" subs this site has and a MTX 500wMAX Mono Amplifier. Will update whenever I get everything together. Just because it's perfect for my 1994 RAM 1500 Single cab. I plan on buying another one of these when I get the money! I love how SonicElectronix will work with you on the price of MTX products. I got about $80 bucks knocked off the sale price! I've never heard ANYTHING bad about MTX, so i'm expecting to be very happy w/ my purchase. SonicElectronix made it very easy to pay online, and give info when tracking the order. So all-in-all, i've had (so far) a great experience with this site. Good work guys.
