Simple to install and way cheaper than the factory item, so that I can play my Ipod for my boat's stereo system.

charges, plays, and yes, the ipod dock is THE BEST way to play the ipod, very loud compared to the headphone jack, HOWEVER, I could NOT control the volume. This was a problem for me because my ipod runs to my amp off a split cable and I could not control the volume. I wound up going with a rca to headphone cable. Bit lower volume but now I can also use my smaller mp3 player. Dock pin fit my 30GB ipod classic- 5th gen I think. quality cable, 6 feet.
