Remote Start Car Alarm

Remote Start

Allows a vehicles engine to activate without physical contact from the user. This feature is useful for warming up your vehicles engine and transmission to operational temperatures. In cold climates you can have your interior hot or in warm climates you can cool it down before use. All of this can be done while in the comfort of your home or office.

LCD Remote

LCD Remote

Receive visual confirmations from your vehicles security system or remote start system. Features such as remote start, lock/unlock, arm/disarm and trunk release will appear on the remote’s screen with its current status. An LCD remote can display warning icons when the doors, trunk or hood are open. If your vehicle is tampered with, some remotes display what part of the vehicle was affected.

Keyless Entry

Keyless Entry

Performs lock and unlock tasks without physical contact with the vehicle. Power door locks can be controlled from several feet away or even within a building using a remote fob. The fob emits a radio frequency that is digitally encoded to prevent frequency stealing so no one can enter into your vehicle without your wireless transmitter.

Dual Zone Shock Sensor

Dual Zone Shock Sensor

This shock sensor utilizes warning chirps for minor disturbances and will trip the alarm if it detects more serious impacts or disruptions. Most dual zone shock sensors have adjustable sensitivity to reduce false alarms or warnings. These sensors let would-be thieves know that your vehicle is equipped with an advanced alarm system and to keep away.

Dedicated Trunk Release

Dedicated Trunk Release

This unit comes with trunk release capability and remote control integration for OEM alarm or add-on trunk release systems. Pop your trunk using your remote transmitter for convenience and ease of use. Carrying a handful of groceries? Arms tied up with luggage? Pop the trunk without using your key so it’s open and waiting for you when you arrive.

2-Way Paging

2-Way Paging

Send commands to your remote start or alarm system and receive confirmation that those commands were carried out. Obtain updates on your vehicles security status and get driver pages on the remote. If your vehicle is being tampered with, your remote transmitter will warn you and set off the vehicles alarm.

General Features

Security System Type

Absolute best remote start out there for the best value

January 26, 2012

I absolutely love this remote start and will recommend it to anyone. I have installed over 10 of these personally and I have yet to run across any problems whatsoever. Flawless operation as long as you know what you are doing while installing it. Can't find a cheaper price from any other reputable dealer other than here unless you are able to get it for cost straight from DEI. Sonic has been great in the past and continues to do so. Thank you.

Avital 5303

September 17, 2014

I purchased the Avital 5303 (a little over 100 dollars) for my wife's 07 Dodge Ram 1500. Purchased this alarm based on its features and 2 way remote system. The alarm was installed professionally. The installation cost was 3 times the amount of the alarm itself. After the installation, everything worked fine. Avital is a DEI product. Know that if you want the remote start feature to work you must purchase a separate module that costs 100 dollars. She is pleased with the alarm. I will recommend the Avital 5303 for its feature set and it's cost. Thanks for reading.

Awesome Product

December 16, 2013

I upgraded from the previous Avital 4103. This is a substantial upgrade and is worth every penny in comparison to the bigger brother viper. Made by the same company, Directed Electronics, so the quality is really on par with that of Viper. Only thing Viper has got is longer range but I've never had issues remote starting inside a building to my vehicle. 2-Way abilities of this setup are purely amazing, I can check the temp inside my vehicle with this so I can decide if a remote start is worth it that day among many other features. I've also got it wired up to turn on the rear defroster(get this, it turns on only if temp is below 55 F outside, freakin smart stuff)

Security portion of this is just as capable as anybodies really, Viper tries to make it seem like they're special, they really aren't because after you understand installs you'll notice that all the add on sensors are just sensors, in fact viper sensors can be spliced in with this one or vice-versa. Loudspeaker is stupid loud, much louder than any car alarm from factory and plus this controller ties into vehicle's horn for an added boost. In fact the shock sensor is the same one Viper uses because as stated above, Avital and Viper are made by same people, Directed Electronics.

Overall a fantastic unit and price is amazing, who cares if they aren't a certified dealer. That crap stock warranty is only good for one year and on top of that a certified installer has to install it. For about $15 extra I've got a 3 Year extended warranty that starts after the 1 year sonic electronix warranty. $200+ for just the unit at a certified dealer plus the install (another $100+ for install, your mileage may vary) So $300+ for a lousy one year warranty or $170 after adding the warranty for 4 years of coverage and you can install it no questions asked.

Awesome Remote Start!!

December 18, 2012

The Avital 5303 is an awesome remote start, and is at a really good price here on Sonic. I saw that it would be upwards of 400 dollars if i wanted to get it done for me, so i looked up some info, bought this baby from Sonic, and 4 hours later, my car starts with the push of a button, inside my house. Has a TON of awesome features and is wonderful for any car that it is added to. Oh and a side note, the remote start that sonic sends you, it is a bit different from the picture, it has a much cooler key fob that is blue. It is the newer version of the 5303. Overall, the Avital 5303 ROCKS!

Pretty good unit!

January 1, 2015

I've had this alarm/starter installed for about a month. It's pretty good. It secures well and it is loud when the alarm goes off. I think the range for the remote starter could be better but the installer put the antenna in the corner of the windshield instead of up top so that could be a issue. Great value. Thanks Sonic!

In reality, it was a piece of crap. It cost a fortune to install and never worked right from day one. The LED remote fell apart and got lost, the other remote wont remote start the car without the other one. Overall, it was just a waste of money. now we can only use it for a keyless entry and wont even protect our stereo system.

As an installer myself installing for a family member that does not want something expensive, this fits all their needs (and then some). I always trust DEI items and though Avital may be the lower end of product, I have never had issues with them. This product pricing is great for what is offered with this advice.

A shopper on Aug 9, 2014
Best Answer: This unit is able to be installed on Diesel Vehicles. The user is able to turn on the Wait-to-Start option either with the valet switch or with a Bit Writer. The Wait-to-Start timer is also user defined. The unit also has turbo timer which will allow the engine to run for a user defined amount of time. I hope this helped. If I missed anything please feel free to send me questions. Have a great day.

Best Answer: Yes, you will need a bypass module. If you are not installing it yourself and would like to purchase the items in advance, check with your installer to see which ones are they comfortable with installing. I went with the DBALL XpressKit.

The EVO ALL will work with this unit in both data and wire to wire mode. Like all modules, you may need a flashing or local dealer to load the module for your vehicle. We can do this for you but would need the information of the vehicle that it will be installed in.

Hope this helps

which alarm system should I use in Hyundai I 20 car 2014 model ?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

It appears that none of our customers have answered your question, so we will; We do not keep track of what systems work better in specific vehicles. It just isn't logistically possible. In addition, we do not have the I20 in North America, so we don't have much to work with anyway. What we can say, is that the 5303 is a Solid system, and can be integrated into any vehicle by a proper installer. However, if you plan on using the REMOTE START feature then you must find out what immobilizer is compatible with your vehicle, assuming it needs one. Again, your vehicle isn't available here, so we cannot establish that.

Best Answer: Yes, This unit has a "wait-to-start" mode that needs to be enabled. The unit will come programed for gas vehicles. You have to go into the program menu via valet switch, in order to change the start options from gas to diesel vehicles. I hope this helps. Good Luck. This is a great alarm for the money.

who can install this?
Vickie on Nov 20, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Vickie,

Any "Directed" Authorized installer. "Directed" is the company behind Avital, and often are housed within any "VIPER AUTHORIZED Dealer/Installer". All these brands have their database on their website, that will show you where these dealers/installers are located in your area - link below.

can you add a windows roll up module to this system to the avital 5303?
Scott A on Nov 9, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Scott,

It appears that none of our users have chimed in, so we will; The Avital 5303 can have expanded features integrated into it. Just like the kits itself, we suggest getting with an authorized installer to have the option integrated.
