Awesome device for the $$!
As soon as I got this installed on my Lexus IS300 I couldn't wait to tune it. Calibration is NOT clear in the instructions nor did anyone post anything out there on the web. Alpine support wasn't that helpful, but they pointed me in the right direction.
Once calibrated, the stock speakers off of an aftermarket headunit and amps sounded amazing!
Pros:
Amazing sound can be acheived with this device (after multiple calibrations [more than 20x]).
Best bang for the buck for a Sound Processor!
Cons:
Calibration - Knowing where to set the mic to calibrate sucks! If you don't know the mic placement, 95% of the time your system WILL sound worst than the stock system.
Instructions are horrible.
Volume output - You NEED to run amps!! 3 amps would be best and let your HU adjust the subs.
Quick low down on calibration:
Turn your HU 3/4 all the way to the MAX.
Enter the calibration disk.
Follow the QUICK setup instructions (it gets the basics across fairly clearly)
Mic Positions:
Position 1 - Direct center of the Drivers head position.
Position 2 - Direct center of the Passenger's head position.
Position 3 - 2" Left of direct center of the Driver's head position.
Position 4 - 2" Right of direct center of the Driver's head position.
Position 5 - 4" Left of direct center of the Driver's head position.
Position 6 - 4" Right of direct center of the Driver's head position.

VERY pleased!
For my 2010 Mustang GT w/Shaker 500, this was the solution I chose. After a 7 point calibration with my PC, this unit performs WELL! I'm VERY pleased with the sound I am getting for $250 spent on equipment. Short story, use FRONT outs only, Front L to L1&L2 (yes, both) and Front R to R1&R2. Remembering that, the rest is easy. Must use Laptop (or PC w/long USB). (Needed BLUE display window, not Green!)
