i was pretty jacked when i saw the new Zeus sub. I assumed it was an update to last years Zeus series. i was soooooo wrong. it looks nice, sounds decent, and still handles 500 watts RMS like last years model. BUT last years model had an excursion of 15mm, this years only has 7mm.
For you New Jacks who don't know, the more excusion a sub has (the farther the cone travels) the more sound you get. and this years model has less than half the excursion of the previous model, which equals less bump. but the price is about the same.
last years Hfi Series bumped harder than these and can be had for $60 a pair. and the updated Hfi's, now the HFX Series has been downgraded as well, but cost more. i guess Maxxsonics figured they could give us less bang for the same buck and hoped we were too stupid to notice.
Now Hifonics Brutus and Zeus amps are still great for those of us on a budget. But there are companies who aren't trying to pull a fast one with their subs like Hifonics.
