Scosche S3-1

Amazing

Wow. This thing is great. Put this in a 2008 Silverado. With this truck if you want to retain the door chimes, warning chimes, etc. you would need something like the Scosche gm22sr or comparable piece, plus a PAC swi steering wheel module to retain steering wheel functions. With the s3-1 and s3-gmlanb adaptor, it's both there. The biggest pro is that you don't have to program anything like you would on a regular steering wheel module. Just select what brand radio you have and everything is pre programmed. Saves A LOT of time. No wires to locate and tap into, no resistors, nothing. Another cool thing is that the module also gives you a lead for reverse gear, parking brake, and even an extra remote turn on. So if you're adding a rearview camera, super easy to install, all from the s3-1. Was a little skeptical at first but this thing worked great and saved tons of time.

After a lot of research and reading all the reviews I could I purchased the Scosche S3-1. I drive a 2007 GMC Sierra NNBS. I used to have On Star but I cancelled it so that was not an issue for me. However, I was installing a Pioneer Double DIN DVD Head unit and I wanted all the chimes, warnings and everything else to work. I also wanted to be able to use my steering wheel controls with the new radio. I bought the S3GMLANB harness to go with the S3-1. Pay attention to the instructions. Match the wires you need. Cap the others. There is an illumination wire which is orange and an auto illumination wire which is orange and white. I called Scosche and they said on this truck use the auto illumination wire. You can also install a back up camera with this unit. Everything works great. I'm beyond pleased with this interface. Awesome price. Easy to install. Buy it.
