I bought this radio for my truck after having purchased an Alpine 110 unit for my car. Overall these are really great units and I enjoy them very much. The CDE 122 has a couple more buttons and features than the 110. The sound is great and I cannot wait to play books on CD and my music on a USB drive on my next trip. I think I will be very happy with it once I learn to use all the features. Right now I have it repeating one song over and over. Hopefully I can get it playing the rest of the songs as soon as I figure out how to reset "Acc." That's why I only gave it 3 stars on ease of use.
I did remember to ask for a color coordinated dash insert. However they sent the darker brown instead of the beige I requested. It is at least in the same color spectrum and doesn't really look that bad. It is better than black and it will work.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, which arrived promptly.

Very disappointed that a quality brand like Alpine cant provide the simplest of amenities. I think we all would agree that having a clock is a very desirable feature for an indash stereo. This stereo does indeed provide a clock, but it is not usable while displaying MP3 tag information, nor is it usable in tuner mode if having the "name" of your station displayed. The clock is only displayed when setting view options to tell only the preset number and the file number. Wow huge fail Alpine.

This radio is very well designed but the only problem I have with it is that if your pandora app is open on your phone and you select iPod source, it will play pandora instead of your iPod. Other than that it's perfect!

I really like this head unit. I bought two 6 1/2 Infinity Kappa series speakers for the doors, and two Kappa 6x9's for the rear package tray. I have a GM 6500 Pioneer power amp, and am waiting for the Bazooka sub to arrive.
