I have a stock 90amp alternator and I have ZERO dimming, or much voltage drop for that matter.
This amp is super efficient and sounds great. I upgraded from a Hifonics HFi A/B amp bridged to 400W RMS, and wow what a difference. So much more detail and sound, especially at lower volumes now. It's like night and day. I would definitely recommend this, and I am even considering getting a V-Power for my fronts too.

Make sue you are using at least 4 gauge wire for power and ground. I have this amp and it drives 2 mtx thunder squares at 2 ohms. ts 55's, and it performs fantastic, never gets warm etc>>> just trying to maybe help you out a bit and maybe you have done all of this. however, have never had and alpine issue of any kind. had alpine products for 25 years . i really hope this helps, if not you just might have a bad one, does happen to all electronics sometimes? take care.
