Lied to by manufacturer - beware!!

I was looking for a tuner to be used in a situation where, if power was lost, the tuner MUST return in the same state it was when last powered on like old mechanical tuners do (tuned to the same station, and power status the same.) Most new tuners are completely electronic and reset themselves to a power off state if power is lost.

It does NOT - upon losing power and it being restored, the tuner is completely reset and even makes a LOUD beep. This means that when power is restored the tuner is OFF and when you (manually) turn the power switch back on, the tuner comes back on tuned to the lowest frequency in the FM band. This makes it completely useless for unattended operation or remote installation in equipment racks in home or commercial environments. I can't say whether it's a good tuner or not.

Note: Sonic Electronix was absolutely wonderful - the product arrived quickly and safely in a very well packed box. Note also that the product seems well-designed, but the manual is written in completely atrocious English and doesn't tell you most of what you need to know. In addition, the FM antenna jack is not a standard coax input but rather is of a form I've never seen before, though it can also take a 300 ohm downlead.
