Oh What A View!

The SecurView™ SV-5350.II is a bar type camera with a "hide-away" bracket designed to be mounted on the vehicle license plate using the existing license plate holes. It has an ultra-wide 170° viewing angle to give the driver the absolute best view behind the vehicle.

The SV-5350.II is not only easy to install, but it also maintains a very low-profile on the vehicle. The entire mounting bracket is made to be hidden behind the license plate so that only the camera lens is visible. Once the camera is installed you can't even tell that it is a plate mount camera. This makes it a very good choice for users who want a clean looking install but do not want any holes drilled on the vehicle.

This uniquely designed camera will give all of the appearances of a custom camera install without the hassle, and can be used on any passenger car, truck, SUV or van. It can even be used on bigger trucks, buses and motor homes. The waterproof design allows the camera to face harsh weather elements in any climate.

Aside from being a plate-mount camera, the SV-5350.II can also be used as a lip mount camera. The camera comes with a universal lip mount bracket which can be attached to the camera instead of the license plate bracket. This feature makes the camera very universal because it can be used for multiple application on the vehicle.

The SV-5350.II also includes a built-in color-coded distance meter to help the driver accurately judge the distance behind the vehicle when reversing, and also includes built-in circuitry for reverse imaging. Both features can be turned on or off when installing the camera.

General Features

Color Type
This will denote whether the displayed image is color or black & white.
Color
Night Vision
Some cameras are equipped with additional lighting for improved performance in low light conditions. LED lights will drastically improve range visibility and maintain a color image. Infrared LED lights have an even further visible range but lack a color image; this is a true night vision feature.
No
Sensor Type
Currently, cameras will typically use a CMOS, CCD or CMD sensor type. A CMOS camera is your most common type due to its low cost and quality performance. CMOS cameras also use much less power than a CCD but are more susceptible to noise interference. A CCD camera is much more sensitive than a CMOS camera so the pictures are cleaner and less grainy and perform much better in low light situations. A CMD camera is right in between the two as it has a better image quality over CMOS cameras and a comparable picture quality to the CCD cameras without being quite as expensive.
CCD
Video Output
This is how the video signal is outputted to the receiver. Most items use RCA composite cables, while other units use wireless transmitters or other video cables.

Yes
Reverse Image
Mirror Image is feature which horizontally flips the camera's image before it is output to a display. This is necessary when the camera is being used as a backup camera so that the orientation of viewed image is the same as if the driver is looking in a rear view mirror. Cameras without this feature are to be used to view images in front of the driver.
Yes
Parking Guidelines
Parking guidelines is a feature which displays guidelines over the image from the camera to assist the driver with parking. The guidelines help to determine distance between the camera and an obstruction.

The idea is great

October 11, 2013

Picture is washed out and grainy. Camera housing fell apart in less than 1 week I had to glue it back together. The idea is great to bad you did not use a good camera. I gave it 3 stars because the idea is great, to bad the quality is not.
