These incredible subwoofers from Alpine have withstood the test of time and proven themselves to be one of the top subwoofer choices for car audio enthusiasts. The Type R subwoofers are designed and engineered for big bass, as well as a durable sub that will last for many years to come. These woofers use a pulp cone that is reinforced with Kelvar for an incredibly durable and rigid structure. The ribbed multi-roll santoprene surround is designed for excellent response, while assisting in smoother cone movement and excursion. The subwoofer will stay cool under extended hard playing with the unique thermal management system that Alpine designed into the Type R Subwoofer. The tinsel leads are hidden and woven into the dual Nomex spiders for a strong and unbreakable connection. For those looking for an industry standard subwoofer with break-taking bass, consider the Alpine Type-R subwoofer.

This sub is very well designed, hard to damage, and on top of that performs very well. For the money this sub hits very hard and hits clean, great for any type of music, i am very serious about audio and i would approve this sub.

me and my buddy are putting our systems together and he went with the two type r 12 2 ohms subs they are powered by a power acoustik bamf 2000/1d getting about 450 rms to each sub @ 2 ohms (not broken in yet).... in a pre fab ported box. WOW these things POUND. i sat in the back seat the first day he got them and i found it hard to breath. my other buddy has L7 12's 750 rms each with a jbl 1500 rms amp @ 2 ohms. these Alpines compare. believe it or not they might be just as loud as the L7's. I have kicker cvr 12's (waiting on the zx750.1) i thought my set up would be louder but then i heard the r's and they took my confidence right away from me. great sub dirt cheap on Sonic.
