Replaced some Infinity Ref's with these. Not happy with them, had to modify the opening for them to fit. The tweeters are ok but the midrange is terrible. I would not buy them again.

Hi,
Overall i would say this is a great OEM speaker replacement,
Even though this is a entry level BA speaker it performs well, midbass hits well and the tweeter is fairly accurate. But you need to properly align your tweeter to get the best staging out it.
If your new to setting up SQ system on your car the S60 is a good start and reference for your future upgrade for a much better systems.
I had these speaker for over a year but replace them already with Hertz ESK 163L.

Hi,
These speakers are the best that I have ever purchased for the price. I installed four ( one per door ) on a 5 channel 1800 watt amp with a single thin mount pioneer premier series 10'' sub in my Honda Fit. Turns heads wherever go! The clarity, polarity and responsiveness of these speakers at high inputs are next to none.
I would recommend these for even for the novice user.

First of all, I would like to stand in defense of the gentleman who wrote the review concerning his Sony amp with (60 amp fuse) rating, and say that he is entitled to his interpretation of car audio and has the right comment in any fashion he chooses. Second, it was was very rude to bash someone else for their comment, and you used the wrong word the describe what you thought of his comment. Dumb means that you can't speak. I believe the correct word or the one you were looking for is stupid. Now there is a word, or few to describe you, however this is about the Boston Acoustics S60's.
If you know anything about Boston Acoustics is a company that has set many industry standards in the SQ field. The Boston sound is one, all it's own. The tonal balance of the speakers (if you are into SQ) is what you are listening for. Boston has the crossover point set to give optimal performance in from the correct listening position and off-axis.
You will never get low mid-bass from one of these. However if coupled a nice subwoofer in the proper enclosure (ie. Infinity Kappa, Boston Acoustic G5, JVC Arsenal series, Morel, etc.) where low end extension and roll off are optimal, then the subwoofer will "disappear" and the Boston's will be doing the job they are designed to do. And that was mentioned by Focalguy, they play loud and virtually without distortion, provided they are power by a good quality amp, with balance line driver, and the amp is not being driven into clipping.
Overall, Boston is not an "entry level" speaker and they don't have anything in their arsenal that is inferior. Focal is Focal, Boston is Boston, just like MB Quart is MB Quart.
This is a particular brand and set that cannot afford to be overlooked. Listen, listen, listen........and listen some more. You can't go wrong with Boston Acoustics.
Ridiculously low prices compared to other sites. The vehicle reference to let you know what size speakers your vehicle has was a very helpful feature. And the products I ordered offered free shipping. Shipping was fast and I was provided with routing #s right away so that I could track my order.
