Amplifier Specifications

Amplifier Series
This designates the series of the amplifier. Many amps are available in a litany of different wattage and channel configurations, but maintain consistent features throughout the product line.
Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. Total RMS power is measured by multiplying RMS power per channel by the number of channels, and is calculated at the lowest level of operating impedance.

RMS power is the amount of continuous power, measured in watts, that an amplifier produces is called RMS power. The higher the RMS figure, the louder and cleaner your music sounds.

The RMS output figure is much more accurate than the peak rating when comparing products.

This is the largest gauge wire that will fit into the power and ground terminals of this device. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire is. For example, a 4 gauge wire is thicker than an 8 gauge wire and thus has higher current carrying capacity. Always do your best to get this size wire to reduce the risk of damage to your components.

Speaker Level Inputs
Speaker level inputs are commonly referred to as high-level inputs and vice versa. This input type allows you to get your audio signal directly from the speaker wire in your vehicle, instead of using RCA cables. The advantage of this is factory integration, as most stock radios do not have RCA outputs to run amplifiers.

Preamp Outputs
Many amplifiers are equipped with RCA preamp outputs which pass the original music signal from the source to additional amplifiers. This is known as daisy chaining because the source connects to the first amp, and the first amp connects to the second amp, etc. The advantage to daisy chaining is you only need one 2-channel RCA cable to transfer the signal from the head-unit to the amplifier, and then one additional cable for each amp being daisy chained.

Low-Pass Crossover Frequency
The low-pass crossover frequency is typically used for subwoofers. It can be a fixed crossover point or a variable crossover range. A variable low-pass crossover allows you to select a specific crossover point which allows frequencies below the set crossover point to pass, while making frequencies above the set point gently or harshly roll-off, depending on the steepness of the slope.

The steepness of the roll-off slope is measured in dB/octave and refers to the rate of attenuation (lowering of volume) outside their pass bands.

This spec compares the strength of the signal to the level of background noise. A higher value indicates less background noise.

The objective of the bass boost is to get more kick out of your subwoofer. It is a circuit that emphasizes the lower frequencies at a given point. The bass boost should always be set first before setting the gain. This feature is known for destroying subwoofers and is commonly used incorrectly, so be cautious.

I got this amp in december, and for a little over 300 you cant do anybetter. 1800 watts RMS continuous. i have two high excursion 12's and this amp really show what they can do. dont skimp on the amp tho, a 1.5 wont do it, i have to get a 3.0 or bigger. GREAT AMP!!

do not under estimate this amp this is a serious amp i have 2 type r dual 4 ran down too 1 ohm and its hits harder then rockford fosgate 1500bd.....u are definitely getting you more amp then you pay for ... so do not think twice please buy this amp u will be amaze ..

This Amp is a beast. I Had a 15 in Memphis Mojo hooked up to it for a good Month. It Blew it. I recommend a Sub with Power. Atleast 2000RMS Subs. The Bass is very deep & hits like the old Mike Tyson. It's a steal at under 300. I paid $550 for it back in the day & it was on sale then. This Amp is worth the Money & more. Never stutters or gets hot. I have a MA Audio 15 Hooked up to it now & it beats like 3 of them. A must have.

This amp really puts out the power... I hooked up a set of the PA pw3's running at 1 ohm and the amp never got hot or even went into protect mode. Easly installation... The twelves were rated 800 rms a piece and i was running 900 rms to each one! It was slamming and then i smelt burnt voice coils!! The amp really puts out its listed power.. It's a must buy for the price!

I had the Power Acoustik A2400DB amp pushing (3)12" Pioneer Premiers 400 rms each. The amp is no joke, it was pushing my 12s so hard to the point that mount support on the speakers broke completely. Than I upgraded to (3)12" Pioneer Premiers 1000rms each, it blew my trunk clean off my car man!! No joke!! I support all Power Acoustik products. The name tells it all !!!!POWER!!!! Anyone out there need an powerful amp, the power acoustik a2400db amp is where its at.

I have 2 RE Audio SE12 and was powered by US Amps Merlin2 MD-1D down to 1 ohms. Until I switched to this amp. I couldn't believe my ears. My bass sounded way louder and deeper. Holy crap my subs never sounded so good. Do not under estimate this amp. It really does put out alot of power, stays cool, and 1 ohm stable. I'm glad I bought it.

I regret buying the MD-1D I thought it was a match for my SE12s until I hooked up this amp.

I had 2 of these and 2 power acoustic mofos.these amps pound what ever sub you hook up to them ,i had them in the back of a 91 eclipse with a bandpass box it was so loud i took one of the amps out and now just running 1 of the amps and it still hits hard enough to move my back hatch.would definitely recommend this to every one that wants a powerful amp with out spending an arm and a leg.

I have the a2400db hooked up to a kicker 15 l7... It pushes the Sub very well.. no complaints i have it hooked up to 1ohm It doesn't get hot at all.. i ran it for 45 minutes maxed never even got warm. I recommend it to anyone. I had a 1000.1 kicker amp hooked up to it.. it over heated and didn't even push it like this AMP does.
