Great Value

I know that these boxes are meant for automotive use, but I used them for a home theater. I went to the local big box store and was very dissapointed at what they had to offer. I sat in their sound room and listened to the most expensive (B&W) subs. They just sounded SOOOO weak and produced so little SPL I would have needed 3 or 4 of them. The wife and I looked at each other and said..."thats it?...That's the best you've got?"
We were so dissapointed we went home.

I picked up two of these single 12" enclosures and loaded them with some old aluminum Cerwin Vegas I had laying around. The boxes are of good quality and look great. They are a great fit for this room. The plexiglass could be thicker or more robust, but for the money they are the Best Bang For The Buck going right now. My 20ft by 20ft theater shakes the entire house. Could not be happier with my purchase...What A BARGAIN!!!

Best bandpass enclosure

The following review is for a previous version (1BV12-BLACK).

Ive had this exact style of bandpass enclosure years and years ago and its amazing what it can do. I bought this one and have had it for about 2 years now. Solid box, performance is insane. I had a single ppi pcx 124 loaded and on an alpine mrp m500 and this thing just crushes. Turned a small chip in my windshield into a 1ft crack, rattles everything. The bad thing about it is you cant fit a very large sub with a big magnet. I tried to fit a RE audio in it and it will not fit. Buyer beware, make sure to do your homework and find the right sub.

Nice box but came without required hardware

I was disappointed because the screws for the plexi-glass were not included. I e-mailed costumer support and the representative said they do not supply them with the unit. So I had to go to Lowe's and get new ones, paint them black and install them. I combined the box with a power acoustic MOFO-124 woofer which din't come with screws either. Overall at the end the sound came nice running a Pyle PQA 3100 power amplifier. I actually connected two boxes for each channel same speakers and boxes with the MOFO's @ 2ohms 1500 rms each. They are used for my home theatre and to listen music on weekends. At least the walls rumble and the vibration is felt through out the house. I'm pleased. Thanks.

Works great

The following review is for a previous version (1BV12-BLACK).

First impressions... the terminal cup is crap, the plexiglass is a bit too thin, and there is some exposed MDF(without paint) in the port. Oh and the carpet on the inside is only partially glued in. So after some gluing and a bit of black paint this box looks awesome.

Performance wise, this thing is a beast! I've got 1200rms pushing my SPL and just switched from a sealed box to this one. It is so clear, and so intense, I really can't believe it.

Great quality built box but not so great sound

The following review is for a previous version (1BV12-BLACK).

I purchased this box as a present to my girlfriend for her new 12" alpine R. Me knowing that she probably wouldn't tell a difference in sound quality from a bypass box to a ported box, I purchased this box. It looks great and had the nice plexi glass front I assumed she'd be very happy but when we received the package it was humongous! I know they give the dimensions but never thought itd be that big. Again it looked great and the speaker fit fine. I got everything wired up and started to tune the amp with her car speakers, trying to get that well-rounded sound but never could with this box. It would hit so hard with a specific sound frequency but when it got to high or low bass there was no bass. I would talk to people that knew about systems and me knowing a good bit about them would ask questions and let them hear. Sometimes they said it was the amp not having enough power but that was just ludicrous. The amp we used was an alpine m500 and if you owned that amp you'd know it had major power. A week later I purchased another box, a Polk audio ported box. After installed the speaker and bass came alive. It almost has heart stopping bass! Now I don't like bashing products unless they deserve it but this product wasn't bad for the price. Just didn't work with my girlfriends system. It was my fault for thinking that if it looked nice maybe it'd sound nice but that wasn't the case.
