4-Channel High-Level to Low-Level Signal Converter

The RF-HLC4 is a 4-channel high-level to low-level signal converter designed for factory or aftermarket radios that do not have dedicated low-level RCA outputs. The adapter converts high-level signal from the radio's speaker line and transforms it into a safer low-level audio signal. This allows you to add a 4-channel amplifier to your system for higher power output and better sound quality.

General Features:

  • 4-Channel High-to-Low Level Converter
  • High-to-low signal converter to connect 4-channel amplifiers to radios without RCA output
  • Output Voltage: Up to 3V (low-level)
  • Mounting: Behind dash
  • Signal Output:
    • Front Left and Right RCA jacks
    • Rear Left and Right RCA jacks
  • Signal Input:
    • Front Left & Right +/- leads
    • Rear Left & Right +/- leads
    • Front & Rear ground leads
  • Dimensions: 3-1/2"W x 3"D x 1"H
  • 1-year Sonic Electronix Warranty

Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. The most common setup is a monoblock amp to run subwoofers and a 4-channel amp to run door speakers. Check out our Knowledge Base for more information.

I have two pair of speaker wires to hook to the input of the Converter. My amp has 4 channel in and 4 channel out. Can I run my speaker level input to the covert or and jumper between front and rear channels on the input side so I can have 4 low level channels on the output?

Best Answer: Where are you hooking the coverter up relative to the head unit in your car? i dont understand why you dont have 4 pair of speaker wires to hook into two converter. One of which would be front left and right, the other would be rear left and right. Are you just trying to create a bass machine in which all sound quality is out the window however your bass quality and ability will be such that it rattles the clothes off of passing females?
