Holy Crap, I put this sub in a ported box. And man its ALIVE!!! Sealed is so not the way to go with this sub. I will say that my box is big, 2.1 ft. But its worth it. Low and clean... and it still has punch. Email polk and ask them to send you box plans. I should have never went sealed.... but at least it helped with the breaking in. This is my winter setup. I have a 10w7 for the summer. This sub is very close to my w7. I know it beats the crap out of a W6, which I had and blew in 7 months. If you are thinking about a W7. Get 2 of these for half the price and it will be loud and clean, OH YA 3 YEAR WARRANTY!!! Hw can you go wrong? PS the mm6501 and mm651 are sick sick speakers. If you are looking for a set of mids look at them. 92db, get loud and are clean.

So I have had my polk sr 124 for a week now. I got this sub to use over the winter. My summer sub is a 10w7. The polk is as of right now not even close to my w7. The jl is better all around. But its also 3x the price. It says in the owners manual for the polk that it needs 40 hours to fully break in. Soooo keep an eye out for a review in a month or so. Killer looking sub. Well over 20lbs. I have in a 1.3 cubic ft box after displacement. May look at going ported. Seems to bottom out in this box.... Not too sure why. Running off a jl 500/1. Polk makes really awesome speakers. The mm651 & 6501 smoke anything and I mean anything jl makes. I sooo love the speakers. Not 100% sold on the sub.

I listened to this sub at a local audio dealer and compared it to the JL Audio 12W7s. The JL's do sound louder and lower, but the sound quality and bass combined out of the Polk SR's is unbeatable! I fell in love with it and found the absolute best price out of SonicElectronix.com. I can't wait to completely put together my system with Polk components.

I have two of these bad boys in a slot port box with a jl audio 1000/1 on them and these subs are AMAZING!!! Polk really made a quality sub with the SR124!!! The sound quality is remarkable!!! Don't sleep on them and they are priced great too!!! They hit extremely hard and can bang with some of the more heavy duty subs out there.

I own two polk sr 12s single voicecoil, like always Polk makes good top of the line speakers. I previously owned two Polk momo 12s (mm124) at 500 watts rms each those subs hit extremely low compaired to any other speakers out there.
These new polk sr 12s are louder than my two polk momo's but don't seem to hit as low as the momo's it may be because of the vehicle its in or the box I have them in, I'm powering them with two 800 watt rms 1600 watts max audiobahn a80002T amps for a total of 3200 watts max for the two speakers these amps are an almost perfect match, they take every bit of it and are still screaming for more power. These speakers have great sound quality when put into sealed boxes, if you can afford these I would recomend them over any other top line speaker like the w7 or Kickers you will get way better sound quality outa these speakers compared to the otheres.
