Sometimes no matter how careful you are with an installation, you get a ground loop or just enough alternator whine that you can never just listen to the music. Car audio is a tough environment and even a carefully planned install can wind up with alternator whine. The Silencer™ was specially designed to greatly reduce ground loops and alternator noise. Just plug it in-line with your current RCA cables. The propriety construction disrupts the loop between the source unit's ground and the amplifier ground resulting in a clear connection.
  • Monster Silencer In-Line Noise Reduction Module
  • Designed to greatly reduce ground loops and alternator noise
  • Plug it in-line with your current RCA cables
  • Advanced audiophile parts for a flat frequency response of 20-20kHz ±1dB
  • In-line design provides the noise-suppressing effects without removal of existing wiring
  • Features DoubleHelix technology for up to 40dB loop area noise reduction
  • XLN Xtra Low Noise technology that further prevents unwanted noises
  • Duraflex protective jacket for easy routing and installation
  • 24k gold contact connectors for improved signal transfer and corrosion resistance
  • Monster 6-Cut Turbine connectors for a tight and secure connection
  • Heavy-duty strain relief keeps the cable-to-connector link intact

Noise Filter Specifications

Noise Filter Type
This designates the type of noise filter listed.

Ground Loop Isolators are connected in-line with the RCA interconnects or other audio cables.

Power Line noise filters connect to the power line of the receiver and help reduce noise from the source.

Pop Eliminator noise filters are designed to remove the "pop" that occasionally happens in some systems when the vehicle is turned on.

Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. The most common setup is a monoblock amp to run subwoofers and a 4-channel amp to run door speakers. Check out our Knowledge Base for more information.

Did not help.......

June 1, 2010

Have a 2001 Buick Lesabre using a line out converter with factory radio. It did not help at all, actually made it worst. Finally trashed the factory radio, paid someone to put in new radio in with direct RCA out's and alternator noise almost completely gone. It looks nice though.

I have horrible alternator whine in my 02 Lincoln LS and this nearly killed all of it. Unfortunately I think my battery cable is radiating the noise into my Monster Cable speaker wire and I haven't found a way to combat that yet. I've tried all the grounding tricks but nothings worked. As for this product, its built superior to all others I've seen and I would definitely recommend it.

Noise Eradicator

September 18, 2011

I was thrilled that this Monster Cable solved a pesky problem that I had been having--low level background interference when I would record analog with my electronic keyboard. I know it was not advertised for this purpose, but I had a hunch it would work, and it did! I suppose it would eliminate electronic interference, such as florescent light fixture hum, in audio equipment, such as PA systems and AM radios.
I have not explored these possibilities, so it would be best to check into it first. For me it did not just reduce the level, but it totally eliminated it. I connected it between my music keyboard and computer for recording. It also takes away hum between a mixer and speakers or amps.

Product came as advertised. It didn't solve my problem; it slightly reduced noise, but was far from eliminating it. Totally lost all power to my Sub's. I'm not sure if that's the product or if my amplifier is receiving noise from the RCA line too. The RCA line is running on the opposite side of the vehicle from the rest of the cables to reduce likelihood of noise induction, but it could be getting noise from the wires behind the dash so I'm up in the air about this product.
