We purchased the MZS1004 subwoofers from MTX at a great price as they were out of the Thunder 5500 series at one point. The subwoofers are the exact same, except for the dustcap (cone logo area), and we believe the MZS has a better looking cone than the T5500 cone. The materials, power handling and all specs are exact same and this is our best 10" subwoofer at this price.

I have two of these in an MTX brand sealed box being fed 140watts RMS each via a Memphis amp. These things hit so hard and are by far the cleanest sounding subs in their price range. I would def recommend these to anyone.

I have 2 of these subs in my truck and I beat the hell out of them on a daily basis...wow! they hit hard as hell and will not quit! I bought them 2 years ago and never have any issues with them. When I bought them, they were in the sledgehammer box and pretty loud, but when I built a box...it ended up being around 2.5 per sub and they hit lower and louder than i have ever had 2 10"s play. louder and lower than my buddy's 2 12" earthquakes...lol. I would recommend anyone buy these.

I have put this sub in a variety of different boxes and pounded it. It takes it and keeps on playing and sounds great. The only draw-back is the fairly deep mounting depth.

2 of these in a truck box sounds ok. They output alot of bass, but its not very clean sounding at all. Its more of an annoyance rather then nice clean deep bass.
