JVC’s Arsenal KD-ADV38 is an In-Dash 3.5” TFT-LCD Monitor with CD/DVD/MP3/DivX/WMA Playback Support. Built-in Bluetooth technology supports hands-free calling, audio streaming, voice recognition dialing, text message display and much more. The detachable face allows you to detach the screen and place it in included case for added security. This JVC receiver is equipped with MP3 ID3 Tag Display, which will illustrate the Title, Artist, and Album when playing an MP3 device. The 12-Bit video Digital-to-Analog converter provides crystal clear viewing quality. Some great audio features are the built-in Tuner with 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets, 8 EQ presets, 5.1 Dolby Digital/DTS/Dolby PL II built-in decoder, and the 24-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter, which all provide enhanced sound quality.
The JVC KDADV38 is loaded with expandability options. First, Sirius or XM Satellite radio can be added on using the optional adapters. HD Radio provides you with a digital radio signal for a high-definition, high-quality radio signal that is almost as perfect as CD music. The rear auxiliary input allows portable media devices such as DVD player, gaming systems, and MP3 player to be connected. Equipped with a rear USB port, you have full control with the latest iPods and iPhones, giving you even more playback options. All these features and options make this JVC Receiver a hard one to pass up.

JVC made this wonderful radio, although the KD-ADV49 is his predecessor, the KD-ADV38 have red buttons and lights that combine with my car dashboard. When you drive, you can feel the buttons, unlike the KD-ADV49, which feels weird bc of its flat surface.
The sound is just amazing, DTS, DD 5.1, I like the screen bc it's not too BIG, the Theater settings are great, the bluetooth is built-in, the Equalizer gives you a detailed and crisp sound. My past head units were Pioneer but I discovered this one, it is an excellent product, combine it with an amplifier you won't get disappointed.

this unit is awesome. 5 volt pre outs, dual zone, divx, usb, it has it all. picture quality is excellent. you have a ton of audio adjustments, from frequency, to independent speaker level, to crossover points. the only flaw i see is the radio reception is weaker than the factory stereo and i had to customize the dash kit for it to fit. i am running wireless headphones and headrest monitors off this unit and the picture is awesome. bluetooth works perfect. i recommend this deck to anyone who wants in-dash dvd and doesn't have room for a double din.

if you're just looking for a single DIN dvd player with red illumination than this HU is perfect for that. The only complaints i have about the HU is that i thought i could hook up a storage device through the usb input to watch videos from there. but no, for one thing it will not recognize a hard drive even though it meets all the power specs etc.. and if i put videos on a flash drive it only plays the sound through TWO CHANNELS. for some reason the dolby digital doesn't work when playing straight videos from a usb drive etc.. if you make a dvd it'll be fine. Besides that minor setback everything else seems to be working out fine, the picture and video quality is crystal clear, and the sound is usually pretty good. the HU also seems to stick out quite a bit with the included mounting kit, but i'll live with it. oh and if you do hook up a usb drive you can put music on it and it'll work fine through all channels as dolby works fine with mp3's.
