Sounds good but does not hit as hard as other models. I should have paid the extra shipping cost to Hawaii $375 bones

I have never experienced a sub with better sq, but I have no idea where everyone gets the idea that this is loud. Its quick and accurate except the decay could be a bit better. I have tried it in sealed boxes from 2.2 all the way down to 1.1, and I finally settled on 1.45ft^3.
It seems to be very good up until I crank the volume past about 75%. (Its powered by a 1200wrms AB class mono amp) After I push it past that it instantly starts to smell like burnt plastic and flutters, but that's well above the amount of power it should take.
Also of note. It seems to take forever to break in. It took close to 20hrs of moderately hard playing time to finally loosen up for me. So if you put it in the box and instantly hate the sound, just give it some time.

Awesome performance in just about every application I could imagine with every type of music anyone could listen to, this beast handled everything with the polish of a seasoned veteran. JVC has truly outdone themselves in this sub and while the brand may not be notorious for greatness, this sub should change a few minds as to what they can do. Accurate, tight, loud, beautiful, what more can I say?
