What Focal is made of
So what is it that makes the Focal 165KF speakers sound so good? Well, the answer is what sets Focal apart from any other brand out there. First off, they use high end materials that are made specifically for better sound. The cone woofer is a thermoformed, structural foam central core, coated with an Aramid fiber layer on the front side and a glass layer on the back side. That "hi-tech" cone results in a woofer that is impressively rigid, lightweight, and distortion free, even at high output levels. The Tweeter is a Tioxid 5 inverted dome tweeter. The TN 45 wave guide keeps the tweeter completely accurate while the 5 micron Tioxid surface coating cancels all metallic colorations. The double-magnet creates a "push-pull" affect that becomes extremely important for the magnetic flux in the air gap. If that didn't make sense, all you have to really worry about is this: Focal uses advanced materials and technology to make a speaker that is unmatched in quality and sound. These speakers will sound unlike anything else you have heard!
The crossovers included in the K2 Power series component speakers are of top quality. The are made with industry leading components that will be appreciated by anyone lucky enough to be within an ear-shot of these speakers. The crossovers also feature a tweeter level control for optimal control and mid woofer matching of the tweeters. These speakers SCREAM. The SQ they provide is more than I originally thought they'd bring. They were a little deep for my '99 Prelude doors, but a nice set of pods not only made these things look great, but sound even better. If you're looking for high quality speakers, then Focal is definitely the way to go!

This is a great set of speakers as long as you get it for the $300 price on here. It has an amazing look to it and will definitely put out a lot of sound. I have always had it connected to an amp so I'm not sure how it sounds without an amp. I first used a pioneer amp and now have it hooked up to a sundown amp and it has always sounded amazing without any distortion at high levels. Worth the buy if you want a good high quality product from a great brand like Focal. I researched a lot of other products before deciding on this one and I don't regret the decision at all.

bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in a 350Z roadster. I wanted something that i could crank up at speed with the top down. These gave me exactly what I was looking for. The offer amazing clean crisp sound - with the top up or down

These are the best speakers I have ever purchased, Sound quality is perfect. I am using these speakers with a JL Audio 300/4 amp behind a Kenwood DDX-6019. I can't say enough good things about the speakers to list them all here. I was moments away from paying twice the price for the same speakers from a local shop when I found them online here at Sonic.
